Senior American intelligence and defence officials believe that President George W Bush and his inner circle are taking steps to place America on the path to war with Iran, The Sunday Telegraph has learnt.
Pentagon planners have developed a list of up to 2,000 bombing targets in Iran, amid growing fears among serving officers that diplomatic efforts to slow Iran's nuclear weapons programme are doomed to fail.
Pentagon and CIA officers say they believe that the White House has begun a carefully calibrated programme of escalation that could lead to a military showdown with Iran.
Now it has emerged that Condoleezza Rice, the secretary of state, who has been pushing for a diplomatic solution, is prepared to settle her differences with Vice-President Dick Cheney and sanction military action.

FRANCE is advocating military action against Iran. If that doesn't tell you something about Iran's intransigence, then nothing anyone says will ever convince you otherwise.

The entire world is on the verge of a war with Iran. Even France, who rarelly wants to go to war with anybody, is behind a messure of war against Iran. That is a good thing though, because if France is behind it, China, Russia, Japan and Germany will support a war against them, and we will need their military power to combine with US, British, Spanish and Italian troops in order to have a chance at victory if it does happen. Iran will only have Al Queda to turn to for support....with possible support from North Korea...but most likely if North Korea gets involved, India, South Korea, Japaneese, Chineese and Australian troops will take care of that...while French, Spanish, German, Russian, Italian, English and American troops will take care of Iran and Al Queda. What I worry about is if anyone else sides with Iran out there.......I don't think it would happen...but it could...and that is the hard part, is knowing that some other country could side with Iran over this whole mess that we don't even suspect right now would be involved at all.
I'm not going to get too into what would happen if.....or speak in political terms...it's not me. I just see this whole thing as one colossal mistake waiting to happen. It isn't like WW1 or WW2 where we had great reasons for fighting a war.....if this does escalate...this will turn it into WW3...and it will go down as the war that shouldn't have happened.

i've got self belief that it extremely is purely approximately particular that the U.S. will unharness an unlawful conflict of aggression against Iran interior the run as much as the U.S. election. This conflict would be timed in one in all those way as to furnish the republican candidate some benefit as they'll attraction to American patriotism to "help or troops". it quite is the reason for Obama's unexpected exchange of emphasis on Iran from with regards to them as no possibility to the U.S. to asserting them a gamble, as a manner to have the means to avert this completely predictable circulate by using the Republicans. Whichever way it is going hundreds of harmless Iranians will die in yet yet another American atrocity which will double the cost of oil lower back and throw the international economic gadget even deeper into recession whilst extra concentrating means and wealth into the palms of the excellent wealthy oil barons. the comprehensive element is a clean con and yet individuals will walk blindly into the seize and be thankful for the prospect to be so thoroughly abused and exploited.

The next time you attend one of these planning sessions of the Bush cabinet, please do inform us as soon as possible so we can all be prepared.
Personally I think something drastic will have to be done about that lunatic running Iran, and fairly soon.

I heard about that, too. It's sad that we have to get news about our own government from the foreign press.
