The air inside an airplane is very dry and can cause you to partially dehydrate. That can cause headaches, muscle aches, and general discomfort. Also, because you'll need to use the toilet after drinking a lot, you'll end up stretching out and moving around which helps reduce the chances of getting a blood clot.

The air in the plane is very dry. Water will help to prevent dehydration. The problem is that with too much water you have to keep running to the bathroom. I'd suggest booking an aisle seat if you are a frequent drinker.

It is to prevent dehydration. It should be water mostly as coffee and tea are diuretics and cause you to lose a lot of water from the body.
