Why in the world did Hendricks take on a loser like Junior? at the rate he is winning, he will be 114 yrs of age before he can match Jeff Gordon, in wins.. that is if Jeff wins no more races..don't make much sense to put a loser in a stable of proven winners...

Junior has won 4 times as many races and is a bigger draw than Busch is. Junior has had the worst luck any driver can have 5 blown engines and Busch personally took him out of the Texas race. He should have won. No driver with 6 DNF's is anywhere near the top 20 in points, and if Busch didn't wreck him at Texas, and he didn't get fined 100 points he would be in the chase. In case you have short term memory Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart,Carl Edwards, and Kyle Busch have all missed the chase and nobody calls them washed up. So get off the mans back.

Wow John that's pretty harsh, have you b=ever just sat and thought what if Jr was on a better team?? I'm a big Hendricks fan more than you could imagine. I don't think Jr is a loser I was very upset when they got rid of Kyle Busch, I welcome Jr' with open arms and glad to have him, I just think that Hendricks may have made a mistake and got rid of the wrong driver, I Like Mears, just alway thought that Kyle is a better driver. Well will see what happens! GO HENDRICKS GO!!!

Well your logic is flawed. There may never be anyone (in the modern era) to get as many wins as Jeff Gordon. He started very young and there was more of a gap between the best and worst teams. With NASCAR continually trying to stop all out dominance and level the playing field it will be real hard for ANYONE to have a 10 win season again. The rules have gotten tougher and there are fewer things that can be done to gain a competitive advantage. I believe Jr has the 5th most wins since he has been racing full time in the Winston Cup/Nextel Cup series, and that has been in equipment that is not up to par with the cars at HMS. Hate all you want but try not to be so ignorant to Jr's ability. Even though many of his fans overestimate his talent, people that don't like him rarely give him the respect he deserves. He is a better fit for HMS and will be a better teammate than Kyle was.

I think that they got rid of the wrong driver. You can only rev a motor so high till it blows. Hendricks motors are no different. Put him in there, we will find out how good he is. If it was not for his name, there would not be all of this talk. Money talks bulls**t walks. I think he will walk after a few years and go back to DEI after he buy what is left after she runs it in the ground. I think it is time to get over all this jr crap. Do I see him win, yeah after his "teammates" let him. Go #48 get another championship.

One factor that you may be overlooking (besides the $$$) is the fit of Jr at Hendricks. Kyle Busch wasn't the best fit for the team, Jr will be more of a team player, more apt to share information and after all, there is a lot of Earnhardt-Hendrick history. But, don't forget the $$$...being able to market three of the top five popular drivers as teammates....can I get 0.001% of the sponsor money???

First off.. What's the kids last name again? Think of the market value HMS stands to gain by putting JR on their payroll... Sale, Sale, and more SALES! They will be raking in off of the new merchandise and new sponsorship. Beyond all that, I don't think Jr is a "loser". He's proven he can win in good equipment, and even sometimes poor equipment. Put him behind a SOLID HMS car, and I think he's going to fare pretty well. I see him winning a handful of races, and POSSIBLY contending for a title in 3-5 years. I don't think he will be an instant success in his new ride, and I still don't know if he will ever win a coveted CUP championship. His odds are better now though!

Dale Jr is a good driver (or he has been)
I think Hendricks is gambling on the the hope that a happier Jr makes a better driver and the hope is that Jr leaving DEI and not having to deal with his stepmother will make him a happier person, and able to concentrate on driving.
I reserve judgement, I am hoping in the next few years we will see a different Dale Jr.

Some how this question is not thought out too good. With the history at Hendrick there have always been lower level drivers that come on board and become winners. So hiring a good driver with a mediocre record makes sense.
Junior can and will win if and when he gets into a quaility car.

Time will tell what the truth is.

While I'm on the subject of truth Jr owns the company his merchandise sales go thru not Hendrick.

Ever stop to ask yourself why Dale Jr. isn't winning more races? And maybe what he can do with a Hendrick team behind him?

And just another fact that might add a little more logic to it for you..... Remember Michael Jordan's dream to play baseball? He sucked at baseball but he still played as he could fill a stadium even for a triple A baseball game. Dale Jr. has more fans they probably Jeff Gordon and I am a huge fan of Gordon. Money talks! The Red Nation LOL

JUST ANOTHER NOTE:

WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!! THIS IS NOT A TALENT CONTEST... IT IS A BUSINESS! AND MONEY DOES ALL THE TALKING! WHY DO YOU THNK YOUR TICKET IS AT LEAST $100 A SEAT? LAST SEAT I PAID FOR WAS $200 A SEAT. IF IT WAS ALL FOR FUN, IT WOULD BE FREE! DO YOU THINK THE SPONSORS DO IT TO SUPPORT NASCAR OR TO MAKE MORE MONEY?

Why wouldn't he want Jr...Geez, he is the most popular driver out there, and just happens to be in crappy equipment, he has talent, put in great equipment all of you who have no respect or like for Dale Jr will see...I'm not saying he will go out and win a championship his first yr (I hope so)...Sure $$ has alot to do with it...Most of you sound like he has never won a race, well he has won 17, and 2 busch titles...Rick Hendricks, knows Dale Jr has the desire and passion to win, and he wants a champsionship.. I'm just happy, he will be in great equipment, great team, great team mates, I'm sure all of this will lead to a great Dale Jr.. Its like Jeff Gordon said, once Dale Jr is with Hendricks, he will never leave, he'll finish his career there, and I hope Teresa realizes what she let go of and lets Dale Jr comes back and run DEI when he is retired from racing.
