My daughter has been having problems with flea invasion. The pets are now flea-free, and they are staying at my house, but they continue to have problems in their home even though they've bought all the remedies from store and vet. It seems professional fumigation is needed. She is pregnant, however, and fearful of the residual chemicals. Anybody know if this could be potentially dangerous to her 3-month pregnant body and tiny growing baby? Thanks in advance for your help in answering this question. (Uh-hum...We would like to send their pets back home!)

I would say that the chemicals would be dangerous to anybody. When we used flea bombs we were advised to put everything eatable in the fridge, make sure all cabinets were closed and if anything was left out to make sure it was thoroughly washed. Since the chemicals used by a professional would be stronger I would advise after the spraying that somebody go in and clean everything and air the home out before your daughter goes back to the house. I would wait at least a day or two myself. I always rely on "Better safe than sorry". If in doubt call her doctor and ask, I am sure they would understand your concern and would be better to advise you. Also call the exterminator, they should know what type of chemicals they are using and the harm that they might cause. Hope this helps.. Good luck and congrats on the new baby...

I would say no, as long as she's not in the house. Read the directions and she should maybe call her Doctor and ask. If the house is not too heavily infested, usually by treating the animals you are treating the house as well. As long as your using Frontline/Advantix/Advantage, they are the 3 best. By treating the animals, any still in the house will jump on the pet and die. The heavier the infestation, the longer it would take to rid the entire house of fleas. Also, vacuuming like crazy and washing everything possible is helpful. Good luck!
