I just got a puppy saturday and found out that he had worms. They are about 3/4 inch long and white, and they were crawling out of his butt hole. I got the liquid medicine and gave it to him and he pooped a bunch of them out. The next day he didn't have any crawl out on their own, but he pooped out some that were dead. Today they have been crawling out and his poop has had aproximately 10-15 live worms in it. Can someone tell me how long it may take to get rid of them completely? And when should i give him the medicine again if they are still coming out? I am taking him to the vet friday, but it breaks my heart because he's so tiny and I want him to feel better.

going to the vet is the best thing. They will know what kind of worms and the best medicine for treating them. Those wormers that you get at the store do not work. Best to let a vet decide what kind and how much wormer your puppy needs. Be sure to remember to tell your vet what you treated your puppy with.

The poor pup is INFESTED with internal worms!
Depending on what type of worm med., don't give another dose till at least 2 wks. from 1st,... but usually it's given a month afterwards.
The worms are zapping his immune system and absorbing all the nutrients in his body, that's why he's not thriving and so tiny.
Usually by 5 or so days all the worms should be dead.
If there's still lively worms being expelled, then perhaps another wormer should be given. Consult your vet. You wouldn't want to overdose the puppy.

Poor little guy! If he's really young, it's not unusual for puppies to have worms. They have to be a certain age to get dewormer medicines. He'll be okay, don't worry. Take him to the vet and show the vet what you already gave him. Provide a little extra food for him in case the worms are taking some of his nourishment. The vet will be able to prescribe something to get rid of them.

He absolutely can! It's not ever shrewd to reveal your dog to different dogs except he has finished his vaccinations. And all doggies have worms, so don't let him close the opposite dog except they have got each been wormed and vaccinated.

Never get dog worm meds anywhere except the vet. Call your vet maybe they can get him in a little earlier.

call your vet and tell him you need some Panacare( dewormer) you'll give the pup one dose for three days and it will work.
My vet measures the doses in a syringe and its like only $4
the stuff really works well. Most vets and breeders use it
