I am getting a college degree in psychology. From what I can tell, that's a far cry from rocket scientist. I know next to nothing about quantum physics, and it's a damn good thing that it's not required to be a psychologist. I only know basic chemistry and biology, and nothing about microbiology. So, as flattering as it is that you think I know everything about the universe, please stop saying it. I can't live with the pressure.

Storm-Eh. I don't have the energy to waste on you.

Wow, the Lords of Doublespeak strike again! If you don't assume we know everything about the universe, then what's with all the questions demanding we prove to you the ins and outs of gravity, evolution, the law of thermodynamics, etc. The list goes on and on.

Well, I've never called them rocket scientists but it does seem to me that most Atheists seem to have higher educations. A lethal dose of it actually. I do know an engineer who chopped his fingers off by picking up his push mower to trim his shrubs. Was he intelligent? Absolutely. Common sense? Not a lick. The problem with bought intelligence is that it tends to squelch common sense as well as that small measure of faith that God instills in each of us.

Why do you make a generalization about a so called generalization?

Myself, being a Christian, does not mean that I do not know science. On the contrary: I am actually striving to become a scientist. By the end of High school, I should have completed IB Biology, Honors Chemistry, Honors Physics, Second Year Biology AP, and Second Year Physics AP. Taking all of these classes does not mean that I will believe in their ungodly concepts, though. My faith in God shall never decrease, for my God is so great so strong and so mighty.

This response is my first ever to ANY question on the internet, EVER. I have spent the last five minutes reading over the responses from both sides. I must tell you that it seems that the atheists sure seem to get worked up over something that they don't believe even exists.

Personally, I do not believe that the Lochness Monster exists, but I do not spend my precious God-given time, talents and treasures worrying about, and spewing venom towards, people who do.

Just an observation.

Here is the Truth. I do not think you are a rocket scientist. I DO believe that you were created by a God who loved you so much that he sent His only son to die for you.

And that by accepting His son as your personal savior you will live forever.

I hope you do so we can live forever, together. See you in heaven, I hope.

Most radical creationists have problems with a simple little concept like natural selection, thus they view us, readers of more than one book, and declared atheists, as scientist, because we declare a bias of science over (mythology) religion.

However, they can not see beyond the wood they sit in, so the fact that we do not believe in god defines us in their eyes, however, we united in our lack of belief, not in the way we reach this state of mind. For an individual unable to comprehend such thoughts, then we must seem like rocket scientist, we have all the answers that they dare not ask!

Yeah it does get annoying after a while. I mean I am an atheist and a writer. I think the most advanced science I did was AP Physics when I was a senior in high school. I do research quite a bit on current and past scientific happenings, but just because I am an atheist does not mean that I know every single thing there is about the sciences.

I'm thinking cop out here. But maybe you aren't here all that often.

It's the Atheists who claim that science is so worth trusting. And yet the kind of science that it takes to be an Atheist isn't really science at all. Science would not get half the airplay as a word here if they didn't bring it up so often.

Not only that, but they are in denial about the whole thing! They cite science and logic as being the reason why they are Atheists in the first place. Science, when there is no science to support the assumption that there is no God, and logic when there is only faith that keeps them Atheists! They have faith that they are right about what they believe.

Atheists here on this forum bring up science as if it is to be used as a sort of weapon against those who believe in God, especially the Christian God. Which to me shows another tendency towards assumption.

Just letting you know.

I started out to be a rocket scientist - I just couldn't pass Calculus III. I did build a lot of model rockets when I was a kid. Come to think of it, I still build model spaceships as a hobby.

"atheist"

What's a rocket scientist? I thought rockets were for engineers and technologists, not scientists (at least, not after Newton).

So what is the current Theory of Rockets?

Why do you generalize the term "Christians". Let me ask a question as general as yours?

Atheists: Why does the word Christian make you think we are all believers that man's will is greater than God's will & that if you don't accept him you go to Hell?

I believe quite the contrary of either question, yours or mine.

it's easy to dismiss and make up excuses than to really exchange knowledge and information. too often that's the case on both sides. i think if both sides can just get out of their own holes and start opening up to possibilities and reasonable doubts instead of bickering then we would have more of a productive and constructive understanding of everything.
