This has only happened once before a few months ago. Today I thought I had looked at a really bright light or something, because I had this sparkly silver dot in my vision. Well, it got bigger and scooted left, so I decided food was in order. On the way to Jack In The Box, it got bigger and sparkly-er (sp?), and by the time I was back to work, it looked like fluttering rainbow flags... just out of the corner of my eye... I told Birgit (co-worker) that I couldn't really see her left eye. It was totally creepy. Susan (other co-worker) said maybe I was going to have a migraine! I never did. I got a little headache later, but I think it was just from the stress of the whole ordeal. I drank some water and ate my lunch. After a bit, my vision came back in that spot considerably, and after about an hour it was all over. Blind spots are scary to drive with, by the way. I won't do it again.

WHAT WAS IT???

Well it can be an ocular migraine or a signal of something else that is going on with either your eyes or your brain. You really should make an appointment to see an ophthalmologist. O^O

It's due to constriction of blood vessels, at least partly. I, too, take Excedrine migraine, but have switched to the Wal-Mart brand with good results. Ingesting caffeine, like a soda, may help too.

Go to a doctor about it. There are a number of reasons this can occur. One is if the optical nerve or blood vessels around it get blocked up temporarily. You need to see a doctor

it can range from a migraine, to retinal issue, to something neurological, or a TIA. Go to an ophthalmologist soon, they can run some like a visual field.

you need to go see your eye doctor asap.
there is a possibility you are experiencing partial retinal detachment. it could be from any sudden head movement in the past (you said it happened before) or something worse.

See? I TOLD you to go to the doctor about it, but NOOOOO! Going will only make things better, ignorance isn't bliss. (I hate the word bliss!)

It would be "more sparkly" but if you must, I think it would be "sparklier."
