"Spanking" Freshman?

Question

Hi, in my school this year the seniors have wooden paddles and they plan on spanking freshman with them (im a freshman) But, my brother is a senior, and i thought i was good, but the other day he told me that no one could be left out and to keep a low profile. I felt rather betrayed and mad, first of all i think NOTHING gives them the right to haze, second today i over heard 2 people talking and one of thier brothers stood up for them. I know at least my brother had the courtousy to tell me to lay-low.(I dont think i have a problem, for me its pretty much from school straight home and i live in the country) But im worried about my brother shockingly. Hes so stupid, he could get charged with assult with a weapon or get suspended ect. Ive said he was very stupid to do this before but he thinks hes invinceable. Is there anything i can do to talk some sense into him?

By the way this is a smallish town that actually cares

Ever think if someone has a worse weapon on them than a paddle and the person is so upset at the time that things get out of hand? I dont find it one bit attractive, btw ive already told my mom and my aunt and they offered to tell the pricincapal.

First of all bring this "Hazing" to your principal's attention.

Hazing has been outlawed in college campuses because of the danger it can produce.

Also let someone on the local school board know what is being planned so they can put a stop to it at a higher level.

School is supposed to be a fun time and hazing just isn't necessary especially by the senior class.

To you others who answered, this IS a serious matter within the school and it must be addressed by those in charge.

It is great that you are so concerned about your older brother and the trouble he might get into. I guess sometimes older brothers just won't listen to good advice from younger brothers.

I've heard of hazings in college ... drinking, being drunk, even getting killed. So very wrong!!

Probably it wouldn't be very nice having the seniors take a wooden paddle to your backside ... but why be worried about it? Has your dad ever given you a serious whacking (no kid should get a beating as punishment). Do you think the seniors are going to be worse than dad? Even if they are, haven't most kids at your school gotten similar, and survived?

I think the best thing you could do is tell your parents or bring it up with a school councilor, or even the principal for that matter, that seniors have wooden paddles with them. It might get your brother in trouble at school, but its better he gets in trouble at school than be charged with assault and wind up in jail.

gee if there wasn't such initiations do u know how boring it is?? u work urself up to the day when u a senior and its ur turn to do the initiation for the freshmen.

believe me, take it as ur due people will know u a good sport, getting known during ur freshmen year by the seniors is a good thing.

as far as ur brother is concerned..if he ain't hurting anyone and just like to be part of it all whats wrong with that??
