It takes a lot of faith to be an atheist.

So its a religion alright.

But its not consider as such by those who practice it.

It denies religion, so those who practice it don't dare consider it one, but in actuality it is.

Its like the alcoholic who denies that he is an alcoholic. When he does admit to the fact that he is an alcoholic, of course thats the first step to being cured. So when atheist start to actually see that this is a religion, that when they start thinking maybe there is something else after all.

Ha.. funny thing is you say that as if it's an insult.. Kinda funny don't you think? By implying that atheism is a religion, you also imply that is a thing to be ashamed of.. maybe you are right, it could be considered an insult to call someones beliefs "religion" when you look at what religion signifies. It's pretty bad when you are using the concept of religion to insult others by implying negative connotations to the idea. ie Atheism is a religion, which makes it just as bad as every other religion..... hahahahah What "religion" do you belong to??

No, atheism not a religion! And they take offense at having it called that! You didn't mention just what it is that you believe! So, what is your religion?

And what does it matter to you where they go to look for questions to answer? Or, for that matter, what they believe?
I don't know what I believe! It changes from one minute to the next! Don't you feel everyone is entitled to question everything?
I, myself am all over these categories! I go back and forth between here and politics! How's that for a weird combination?

Definitions:

atheism: 1. Disbelief in or denial of the existence of God.
atheist: One who denies the existence of God.

theism: Belief in the existence of a god or gods; especially, belief in a personal God as creator and ruler of the world.

religion: 4. Any objective attended to or pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion: A collector might make a religion of his hobby.

Notice that neither atheism nor theism is referred to as a religion, and they are both about God. Religion is a quality that separates humans from the animals, there is no escaping it. We are going to worship either God or a substitute in a religious way.

Kinda but not really. Atheism does have a series of beliefs, like religions do. The early greek definiton of Atheist, basically cites that they don't have a SET series of beliefs. They are inidividualistic in their philosophies. Its really only Christian Propaganda that needs to sterotype them.

I answered a question in the pets section, but I'm not a pet, and I don't have one.

It merely means atheists discuss religion.

Nope.

But hey, if it makes you feel any better to believe that atheism is a religion, go right ahead.

And the fact that the mythology section is full of christians means that christianity is a myth.... wait, this logic seems somehow flawed. And everyone in the science section is a scientist... hmmm, I don't believe you are correct sir. But I will agree with you on one point, christianity is a myth, so you are correct there.
