Call your vet!! Let them know:

- How long ago your cat ate the Q-Tips.
- If they the plastic-stemmed ones, or the paper-stemmed ones.
- The number of them your cat ate.

Keep an emergency animal clinic number on hand - most vet offices will provide one upon request for either their office or the closest 24-hour clinic.

Keep a close eye on your cat within the next 12-48 hours. Make sure he is eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom normally. If anything seems off, call your vet.

In the future, keep your Q-Tips out of your cat's access, and purchase a covered garbage can or keep the garbage in a cabinet.

I'm not a vet, just a kitty owner.

Please don't let the kitten eat the Q-tips. If he is eating the whole thing, it may cause stomach or intestinal problems. The cotton tips and the paper stick may expand in his stomach or intestines and cause a blockage. If the stem is plastic, there may be sharp edges that will puncture or tear his stomach or intestines. This would mean an emergency trip to the vet, possible surgery, etc. This would be the worst case scenario.

But just to be sure kitty doesn't have any to go through this, put the Q-tips where he cannot get them. Get an unbreakable covered container to put fresh Q-tips in so they are handy in your bathroom. Then put the used Q-tips in a covered trash can.

Remember that kittens are like little children. They are so curious and love to explore. It's our job to keep them safe!

Purrs for you and kitten!

Well, you only saw him eating 2 qtips.
First, make Q tips inaccessible to him
Provide hairball or lactulose (prescription laxative, use only 1/2 cc)so he cat expel the cotton safely
Watch his litter usage, any signs of pain or discomfort when defecating should put him right away into the vets office.

I'm not a vet, but the obvious solution is to keep the q-tips out of his reach...
