I don't think so though, sometimes I do have thoughts like I'd like to die, but never at my own hands, because I'd just be too scared. There was this girl, my age, that was run over and killed this week, and I thought, I wouldn't mind dying, and Im' sure she did, why not me?
Anyway, I think I just imagine myself being depressed so I feel like I have the symptoms. I'm also one of those "poor me" people, so mabye I'm just really narcisstic and need to get over myself?

there is nothing wrong with seeking professional help from a therapist; that is what they are there for!! the thoughts that last and are repetitive are not good. there could be an underlying issue and reason for these thoughts. my prayers are with you; i pray that you feel better ~!~ one day at a time!! *smile*

Keep in mind your audience as you read these answers!!!
You seem to be experiencing depression. It may be mild to moderate. If you feel it is ever severe or you might actually do something to risk your life then go to an Emergency Room and tell them. That said, I think you need to look inside yourself for the answer. Is it possible that you feel your life is not what you want it to be? Then make changes. Are you just not enjoying life right now? That will change...we all have ups and downs. When you experience death it makes you question a lot about life nad death, so her death may have just placed you in a normal phase of questioning.
As for being a "poor me" person...change your attitudes on things. Try to find someone worse off in any given situation and realize that you are better off than you believe.

I wouldn't say you're depressed. The death of someone your age just got you thinking of your own mortality. Thinking about if death should scare you and such. I think sometimes everyone thinks dying wouldn't be too bad because you wouldn't have to worry about everyday stress of life. It's a normal thing. If you're feeling strong emotions to kill yourself and feeling that it's the only way. Then go seek help.

find a hobby, something you are good at, something that makes you feel worthwhile. There is no one I've ever met in my life that has not dealt with feelings of depression and or suicide. Its just a nagging demon that will be with you the rest of your life so you have to fight it now and get over it. But like I said, focus on something you believe in and like doing, and this will start to stimulate positive thoughts about the world and yourself, making you happier. You could also try talking to God about it that always helps me.

If you really are depressed there are people out there (counselors, psychologists, etc) who can help, even medication you can take. If you tend to play the victim then spend time with good friends and family who mean something to you and share your life with them. I'm sure it'd mean a lot more to talk to them than to a bunch of strangers online.

Regardless of any best answer, I want to talk to you. I have felt the same way myself. I have many times said to myself, "I'm done, let it be over". It's not that I would be my own demise, but that I am tired and want life to be over. You know, things are in our lives that we just don't want to deal with and it would be more simple just to throw up our hands and say, "I'm done". That doesn't mean that we are suicidal or crazy, but are realistic in thinking that we are just really tired of the current situation.

It isn't about, "poor me"; it's about you and it's about me.

'Catherine The Great' if you have thoughts like that............., I would'nt mind dying ? Then you need to take a good look at yourself and see if you need meds or therapy. Or maybe it is just lack of sleep - food - excercise. Too many people kill themselves and never reached out - if you ever want to talk to me my email is andrewfloyd2006@yahoo.ca

don't do any self inflicted pain.
that's deffffff. not the answer.
i used to feel like this all the time.
i would then write out all my feelings on paper,
listen to some good music [avoid the screamo and emo songs in this]
and try to take a nap.
whatever you do, don't kill yourself, because your life is way better off living.

See a psychologist. So many people suffer from depression and I think it's just something you need to deal with and try to always have faith, as bad as things seem, or get.

Please do not listen to the idiot who told you to slit your wrists. I deal with depression. Medication may be the answer for you. Talk to your doctor, or psychiatrist. Do not talk to a therapist about this, because they tend to be against medication. From what you described, it sounds like it is depression, so you may want to take my advice.
