Answer honestly please.
Would you give up your spot in Heaven to save a lost soul? If you were given the choice to go to Hell so that one apostate, perhaps even someone you know, would be saved and allowed into Heaven, would you do it?

Christians, this is what's known as a "hypothetical" question... please answer it as such... none of this dodging the question by saying it's an impossible scenario. Just imagine it is not and answer accordingly.

I can say yes because I know the verse that says, no greater Love is there than giving up your life for another.
I don't think anyone can honestly say what they would do until the time. I would like to think I would. I only wish to serve God and if it means going to hell to do it, so be it.
There is nothing that has greater meaning in my life than to serve God, inclucing my own life. Without God I am nothing anyhow. That I believe 100 percent. I also know the Love of God would not allow such a senerio to happen.

No way in Hell. Get it?! HA!!!
Sorry... not an xtian... just liked the question. I'm waiting to see the answers. Very interesting question... They have to really believe that their god would let them go to hell forever to save someone elses soul... that's the part they won't get.
No good answers so far. I'm seeing the same responses that I see to the good old question:
Can god create a rock so big even he couldn't lift it?
BBH <<<< Of course it's hypothetical! Just like the god concept!
What if there were no hypothetical situations? ANSWER THAT!

A great question. Of course the "right" answer is "yes." Thing is; to give heaven up would be the ultimate sacrifice for me. And that is the truth for me. On the other hand.........I can almost see myself doing that. I would need to be in a very spiritual mind set. I would need to spend alot of time meditating, absorbing the unjust life and treatment of this person. I would need to live the confusion or the desperation they have lived. Ultimately, I would need to feel an extraordinary and tremendous amount of empathy for this person. I would probably need a year or so to just get my thoughts clear and my focus streamlined to agree to it. Phew...heavy question

Hypothetically speaking...
I would be completely and utterly terrified to, and I'm sure it would be the hardest decision I'd ever be faced with. But I believe that I would. It's really a terrible thing to think about. giving up your place in heaven... but I do believe that when all was said and done, it would be harder for me to leave someone I loved to eternity in hell than it would be for me to endure it myself.

I'm an atheist, and I think I would... not sure about doing it for anyone I really cared about, but anyone else I would.
(I would want to make sure that it was really worth it for those that I cared for)
Edit:
What????? If I was still a Christain, my answer would have been "Yes, how can I not sacrifice my life for others?" How can any "Christian" answer otherwise?
Second edit:
I'm sorry, but this has to b a bad sampling of "Christians", how can you not emulate your Saviour? People would die only because of eternal salvation and not to really help others?
PS:
Kudos to Rev tomcat!

Salvation is not like trying to get a seat in the Politburo. One cannot buy, sell, or trade salvation. Nothing to be gained through such a misconceived proposal of altruism.

Question is moot. God would not allow a swap. If you're talking purely hypothetical, that's a really tough question. Honestly, I do not know. Die for someone? Yes. But eternal suffering? That's tough...

the motivation behind the decision would render the deal as moot, as God would consider the person who was selfless enough to give up their spot, truly a disciple of Jesus
You're setting up a scenario that doesn't make sense, so the nature of God must be unknown to you, so unfortunately your question cannot be answered the way you set up your rules.

Honestly can't be answered, because the question itself is based upon an impossible scenario.
Each person is required to accept or reject the salvation offered to them through the sacrifice of Christ, who already died in our place, so that everyone has the ability to get in...
