I would take the sunny D and start mixing it with water a bit at a time. The first day use only a few table spoons of water. Then have him drink it like that for a few days. Then add more water. Soon you can get rid of all the sunny D, it might take a few weeks. Sunny D has so much sugar in it.

It is good that he drinks milk, you can even try to offer him one more cup of that in the day so he is getting about 24 ounses.

For the juice, do you mix it with water? My daughter only drinks one cup of juice day, that is mixed with half water. If I give her full juice she also gets a bit of runny poops. But, she also drinks alot of water during the day.

The concern is the sugar sitting on the teeth all day. Too much sugary drinks can lead to tooth decay. My sister in law was fed so much apple juice her teeth turned black, and that is no joke. The thing is, if it isn't in your house, he can't drink it, so you stop buying it. You can try to go slower by adding more water to it. My children are only allowed one cup of 100% juice a day (grape is better when it comes to runny poo over apple juice). I now do half water and half juice because they don't tell a difference. It does take a while to like water, but I have found that fun cups = a few sipps in their belly. My kids liked straws.

sorry, honey, but yes, that is bad. I wouldn't give him any sunny-D at all. I would only give 100% juice. If you give him any then I would only give him one cup and dilute it with water. Keep trying to get him to drink water. Carry around a sports bottle or cup of water and sip on yourself. They usually want a drink of mommy's. Keep offering him water in cute different cups and he will most likely eventually drink some or some of yours.

water down the juice. Sunny D has lots of sugar in it, try to find an all natural juice he will take instead. Start to slip it in with the sunny d, and increase the amount until the sunny d is eliminated .

I am not sure for the immune system but at the rate you drink it, I see no problem. It does have a lot of sugar & not much juice but if you just drink the 1 glass a day you should be fine
