I was raised Christian, but it didn't gel for me until I was a freshman in art school. I began to ask deep questions about what it meant to be alive, how was life to be lived, etc. I decided that Christianity made quite a bit more sense than I ever gave credit. So I prayed for Jesus take over my life and show me what it is he wanted me to do. I transfered schools and became a biblical studies major which turned into a philosophy & religion major. I then went back to art school, then a masters in art. Now I show my art in New York and Chicago, teach art at a Christian college, and feel quite good about where I am headed.

Well...I was raised in the Church of the Brethren...was asked to be baptized and I ran for it...I just got this bad feeling...

So I stopped going to church....started searching when I was 14-15, and in October I'm being baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints...

I have been investigating for almost 4 years, and a little over a month ago, I prayed to God and told Him I would do anything for Him if He would let me know if the church is true or not. I opened the book(without looking) pointed to a verse and read it...it was Mosiah 2:34 which talked about Rendering everything you have and are to God and I was like "WHOAH!!!!!!!!!!" I was freaked out...I knew from then that the church is true because that has to be HUGE odds than I just "happened" to have pointed to it....

I was raised in a christian home and came to know the Lord personally when I was about 9 years old. From then on I had always had a fear of the Lord, and felt His conviction in my life-- He has given me a desire for Him and to tell others about Him. I want to raise my kids to know the Lord and His wonderful salvation. There is nothing more important than our eternal salvation in Jesus Christ. God is truly awesome! I continue to know Him more and more as I study His word and seek Him in all things. God is the one who deserves ALL the glory- we do not even deserve His great love! Yet He gives it freely to those who will accept it~ (Ephesians 2:8-9)

one night i woke up with an intence fear all over me as i was becoming aware of where i was and that i was waking up i noticed that i was praying to jesus it struck me as very strange because at the time i didn't care or belive in any religon. then all of a sudden i looked in the hallway and in the darkness i saw a figure that looked like what the grim reaper is pictured to be before i had time to react the dark figure turned and went down the hall. i still don't go to church but i find that i am always willing to learn more about the "god theory" the thing about being saved for me is that the words came out of my mouth without my counciously deciding to pray. maby i like to think that the confirmation is that i came face to face with death while praying to jesus and lived to tell the tale.

When my aunt invited me to her church. It was awesome and a lot better than the Catholic church my mom went to (I don't have anything against their church, though). I got saved a year later on August 6, 2000 when I was going into my sophomore year of college.

I was raised Christian. Just recently have been able to break away. And I'm glad too...the hypocrisy used to bother me.
