Early November won't be ideal. Only a handful of resorts will be open by then, like Loveland, A-Basin, Keystone, Breck, Copper, and maybe a few others. Even then, only a few of the runs will be open, and alot of it would be man-made snow. I'd have them hold off until closer to December, if possible.
As for the optimal time to ski in CO, it's definitely March. We get the most snow during that time, and the days are longer, as well.

You can start skiing in October in CO. Keystone is usually making snow by the end of September. Conditions will not be great though. I worked there for 2 years.

There will be ski areas open, but they won't have good skiing. If possible I think March is about the best.

I am going to be working at the Winter Park Resort, CO. We are ready to start on November 14th. At the Mary Jane base Enjoy this season!

Sometimes as early as Oct - but usually they will start making snow in Nov so that there is a good ground cover for thanksgiving weekend
