My son has eczema and swims often. I use Eucerin cream not the loition. I put it on before swimming then after his bath. I always bathe him after swimming. So far it has worked for me. Good luck.

My little boy had eczema on his cheeks. I was not sure what method to use but I didn't want to make my boy go through any surgery treatments at this young age. Some suggested a plastic surgeon since it was in a very visible location but our family doctor recommend this natural guide.

Not sure about the swimming part. I have a toddler with eczema and keep him OUT of chlorinated water for good measure (regular baths tend to dry him out so I don't figure chlorine water is good for him) My mother is a dermatologist and recommends baths with Cetaphil soap (it works wonders) and Aquaphor after the bath while the skin is still wet. You could also go to your local dermatologist office and ask for a prescription of Protopic ointment...that stuff clears my son up so fast and so good you can't even tell he has eczema.

No don't take him swimming at a pool!!! Thats the worst thing you can do because the chlorine will irritate the ecezma & make it extremely painful for him!! Just google eczema & chlorine. all sites say the same. go to the river, lake or sea any swimming place where there is unchorinated water.......

Eczema is a terrible thing for young children to suffer from. I would try to stay away for chlorinated pools for one. I am thinking if you rubbed her down with a non water soluable moisturizer like vasoline it would hold in the good moisture and not dry her out as bad. She may be slicker than snot, but rub it in good and it may keep another outbreak at bay.

Poor baby, sorry she has eczema. Don't take her in the pool. The chlorine will burn her, and she can get more infections through the wounds.

My oldest also has eczema. I let him swim, but watch his skin. I also make sure to keep his skin covered in sunblock, and use hydrocortizone after swimming.

Should be ok. One of mine has the same condition altho not all over his body, just on his elbows and wrists. Just be sure to moisturize immediately after the swim just as you would after a bath.

Yes, swimming will be fine. As soon as you are home bathe her and put lotion or other medication that you may have on her.
