Call the place where the surgery was conducted and ask when the follow-up appointment needs to occur. If the amputation took place because of diabetes, the individual should be VERY careful and follow the provider's instruction to the letter. An amputation of any kind is MAJOR surgery. Please make sure the involved party follows-up.

Call the Clinic first thing in the morning. If there are any post operative problems, have a list of them ready to ask. It is important that you know what to do post-amputation. I would imagine dressings are involved, just an assumption, though! The Surgical Clinic where this procedure took place will have all the answers. I am guessing 7-14 days for this, but, again, the Clinic will be able to give you this information. Hope this helped. Good luck and Take Care!

You obviously went to a clinic or hospital for the operation. You had a doctor. You should call either and tell the person who answers who you are, what you had done and when, then ask for a follow up appointment. They will give you one at approximately the right time. If you are experiencing pain, or if the incision site looks red and inflamed, they will give you instructions on what to do. One to two weeks is normal for a follow up visit.
