It's not only a suggestion but the obligation of each and every one of us because it is inseparably linked to faith. Paul said: “With the heart one exercises faith for righteousness, but with the mouth one makes public declaration for salvation.” (Romans 10:10)
(james 2:26) "...faith without works is dead"
(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
That's not only a command but a prophecy. "Then the END will come." End of what? End of all wickedness on earth. Proverbs 2:22 states: “As regards the wicked, they will be cut off from the very earth; and as for the treacherous, they will be torn away from it.”
Many will be caught off guard but it won't be because they weren't warned. Romans 10:14 says "How will they hear without someone to preach?" Not preaching is also linked with bloodguilt. Ezekiel 33:6 says if we know what's going to happen but we don't tell people, "our own blood will be asked back" However if people listen or not is their choice. Just like in the days of Noah when the people didn't listen and were drowned, so is it the same today. Matthew 7:21-23 - "Not everyone saying to me 'Lord, Lord will enter into the kingdom of heavens"
The "good news" that's preached is Jehovah's promise of a paradise earth. Psalms 37:29 says, " The righteous themselves will possess the earth, And they will reside FOREVER UPON IT."

I think the word minister back then referred to anyone who was sharing the good news, now the word minister refers to a profession , and I think yes, all people who serve God- should study the bible, and share it, therefore being ministers of the faith.
19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

You can be a minister even in living your everyday life. Many unbelievers surround you and look to how you live your life as more of a message than your preaching.
A good mother, a good father, a good daughter, a good son, a good relative, a good friend.... they all preach and are ministers to the observant eye.
I doubt that God has called all to the ministry, but he has called all to share in the preaching of the gospel, and into the body of Christ.

All believers ARE ministers, though many don't know it. We are called a royal priesthood. A priest is someone who goes to God for other people, and so we are to pray for others. That's ministry. We are supposed to love God and love our fellow man. That's ministry. We are supposed to give of our time, talents, and treasures for upholding the Christian Church, and that's ministry.

Yes, but can you take the heat. Remember no cowards in heaven. The art of ministry was laid out by Christ, not other books. Its by the power of the Holy Spirit. Remember you are just the vessel. You can't save anyone. God Bless.

a minister is simply one who ministers to others...all Christians are to minister to others... if you are speaking of the office of pastor or elder, that is quite different and the specific requirements for those positions are listed in Timothy and Titus...

All Christians should want to be witnesses for Jesus, but all who say they are Christians are probably not, remember Jesus said except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of Heaven. He also said with your mouths ye do honour me but your heart is far from me.

No. The only Bible that existed for early Christians was the OT.
The NT books were collected and canonized by the Holy Roman Catholic Church in the year 327A.D.
People who want to serve God should trust a Catholic Priest to teach them how to understand what they read in the Bible.
