Unless your dogs are under 16 weeks old it is too late to get them done.

Also ear cropping is not condoned by the AVMA..vets do not get trained to do ear cropping any more so it is getting harder & harder to find a qualified vet in ear cropping.

WHY do you want to breed pitbulls? Aren't there enough dogs put into fighting rings, starved and abused? No vet will cut a full grown dogs ears. If your dogs are over 4 months you can just forget it. Ears have a rich supply of blood vessels and nerves and its too risky and painfull to have this procedure done on an older dog. Its painful for the poor puppies as well. Its purely cosmetic and I think putting an animal through that much pain for nothing is cruel.

Many years ago I had my young Pit Bulls ears cropped by my veterinarian. I was told she may be in pain for a few days but she was not. My puppy was bouncing around that same day, like nothing happened. This breed has a very high pain tolerance. As far as breeding and starting a kennel, a vey bad idea! So many shelters euthanatize Pit Bulls and Pit mixes, just for being that breed, so sad!

Are you serious? First, why would you want to start a pitbull kennel when there is a lot of legislation banning the breed, and so much publicity around pitbull fighting? Second, if you know so little about basic things like this, you should not be starting a kennel. Get your animals spayed and neutered. Last, why would you want to maim your animals? The whole thing disgusts me.

there is not any reason to try this on your dogs! besides vets wont dock tails as quickly as the domestic dog is over 9 days previous. they generally crop domestic dogs ears at 3 monthes of age. yet it quite is stupid and cruel, why might you choose your dogs to look mean? Pits have already got a foul attractiveness.

Getting a dogs ear cut is wrong and any vet that would be willing should have their office shut down. people only cut the ears of fighting dogs. I do not condone this at all.

I myself find the practice cruel & barbaric!
Had a Pit/Staff myself for 13 yrs., she was a loyal sweetie who I never even contemplated mutilating her natural ears ever.

But if you're deadfastly set at having this purely cosmetic surgery done,.... it runs (in Canada here,.. may be comparable in cost) $500 and up.

well lets start by cutting off your ears, see how they grow back in, maybe your nose, and a finger nail or 2..are you frikin kidding me? i know people do it for showing dogs, but even that is mean and cruel..hell i think them getting their balls chopped off is bad enough, but at least it saves them from health risks..this is just for looks..i think a dog is much more beautiful in its natural state..did you know, not many people probably know that a pit bulls ears aren't naturally standing, they normally flop down..how sad..please don't do it..its a terrible thing to do

That's something that should be done when they're very young. It's known as "cropping" - talk to local vets.
