You can't.

God is just a superstition. God, Santa Claus, and the Tooth Fairy are all made up by people. They don't really exist.

Often, it is a matter of how we get ourselves to listen.

Pick a time slot for at least 15 minutes - early in the morning, in the evening - whenever you can be alone with Him. For the first 5 minutes, read the Bible - wherever you feel led to read, a book, a chapter, where ever. The next 5 minutes, talk to God - bring Him your concerns, ask Him questions. The remaining time, listen.

Keep a journal handy. Write down whatever went on - if God revealed something in scripture, if a scripture "stood out" that needs further inquiry, if you thought God spoke something to you, etc. Don't think that you will get some great revelation, at least not on a regular basis - God speaks when He is ready to say something.

Do this everyday, if you can (don't worry if you miss it once in a while, don't live under law). Be patient and see where God takes you with it.

well there's great news! god can speak to anyone at anytime unfortunately the devil likes to keep us distracted from day to day so it will keep us from hearing god's voice. but we can overcome by Christ Jesus! I believe god is always speaking we just need to be still and listen. from my experience in four years being a christian I have found the more time I spend reading the bible the more he speaks to me. Why? When we are in the word we are devoting that time to god and it is creating that relationship of intimacy between god and you. see the closer you get to him you are building a level of trust between you and god so he then begins to speak to you more and you will hear him more clearly. I truly believe through obeying God it opens up the windows of heaven to come down upon us. Luke 18:16 says Permit the children to come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I pray that God will speak to you so clearly and that you will know that you know it is God. Be encouraged God has a vision for you so keep pressing forward!

Generally with Christian, as we read the Bible the Spirit will bring applications to mind. The more your familiar with the Bible, the more the Spirit gets to work with in talking with you.

you've got to do some listening first. and you've got to understand that God uses more ways than speach to speak to someone. Sit and listen in silence. Quiet your thoughts before the Lord and ask Him to replace your thoughts with His. Do this everyday, you'll hear His voice.
