I have a neighbor who insists on luring my cat or cats into her house, I have ask her not to do this but she will do it any way.
This evening when I got home the cats were at the door ready to say hi and then they like to go out and sit on the porch and run around the yard they don’t go any where really they just like to go out for awhile, this evening I left the door ajar so they could come in when they heard me open the can of cat food, when I opened the can no cats.... I went to the door and there she was trying to get the cats into her house. When she saw me she rushed back into her house, so I didn’t get a chance to say anything to her.
This person has cats of her own they go out so it isn’t that she thinks I shouldn’t let mine out. I have wondered it she thinks my cats are to slim, she has really fat cats and seems to think they look good.
I have talked to her 50 times about this; I have been nice and rude. I have told her if they get used to going into her house they might go into someone else’s and ill never see them again. What am I going to do?

I'd go to her door, ask to talk to her, and in a reasonable voice say that luring your cats into her house is a form of theft and you're about ready to start filing a complaint against her with the police. Look her right in the eye while you're saying that.

Tell her the cats are yours, they have a good home, you monitor their health and are responsible for their welfare, and if she continues to attempt to take them you're not going to stand for it and will start following through with official paperwork.

Hopefully that'll scare some sense into her. I don't see why she'd feel the need to hoard your cats with hers.

If she does it again, you call the police and talk to them. Be insistant and they'll go to her door and talk to her. If she does it AGAIN then you can contact a legal representative--a lawyer will draft a letter for a minimal fee, and their first half hour consultation (sometimes full hour) is free. A legal notice from a law office will make her sit up and take notice.

I could only imagine if that ever happend to me and my cats. Luckily my cats are indoor cats though lol .... ummm ..... you could tell her that if she continues then you will call the police and file a complaint. That might make her stop..... if you are nervous about her stealing your cats as some people will do, perhaps you should keep them indoors and when you get home let them outside in a fenced in type of scenery. Fenced in top and sides.. kind of like a big cat kennel I guess...
Sad that we have to revert to such things these days because people can't keep there damn mits off other peoples family members!

Call the police and file a report. I do agree whole-heartedly that what she's doing is wrong. The police might not be able to do much but let her off with a warning; if the matter persists, sue her. Or just complain to the police again; keeping your kitties inside is a good way too, with keeping spreading diseases from them, and keeping them from getting ran over. If you have a male that sprays, but is too old to have fixed and not spray, then just keep an eye on it. It'll be okay.

Unfortunately, she sounds like a hoarder. Is she elderly with no one else living with her? If so, then she may have problems beyond your control. Call the local ASPCA or animal control and explain the situation to them. They will go over to her house and check on things. They will check out her and her cats living conditions and both her and the cats health. Good luck.

Huum? I've you ever asked her why she's so interested in your cats?
She might be very lonely or other.
I had a similar situation, but with my daughter....an old lady kept trying to give candy to my kid. after many "no"s, polite and rude, I finally took the time to talk to her. Fortunately, she was just a lonely granny. We're friends now and go visit for tea. Hope it works out for you...

I had to do this with my cats and a crazy cat lady. I just went over and asked if my cats were bothering her. She said no and I mentioned that one was on a very strict diet (a lie) and if he was begging for food to just tell him no. It worked out for me. You need to let her know your are VERY fond of your cats and that they are micro chipped (even if they're not) that way she can put to rest any ideas of stealing them. If all else fails, keep them inside or go out with them.

You need to report her to the police. She is being sneaky anc conniving. And keep your cats inside for the time being. Also report her to the Home Owner's Association and to the landlord too.
