Part of Daniel chapter 11 mentions the rise of the Anti-christ.

Dan 11:40
40"At the end time the king of the South will collide with him, and the king of the North will storm against him with chariots, with horsemen and with many ships; and he will enter countries, overflow them and pass through.

This passage clearly talks about 3 factions going to war. South againts the Anti-christ first, and later also the North.

The South isn't too much of a big deal, but the north has many ships and vehicles who fights the Anti-christ. Clearly the North is world power enough to stand up against the kingdom of the Anti-christ.

The prerequisites of the North is: it has to have a large powerful navy. The US has the worlds largest navy. Also the US is from North America, and leader of NATO, North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The passage also say the Norths storms against the Anti-christ so this power is capable of conducting foriegn invasion, only the US can do this at this scale.

The passage clearly says "end time" so it has not been fulfilled.

I do not believe in a pre-tribulation rapture.

The chariots and horsemen are merely symbolic for tanks and armored vehicles, because Daniel didn't know what they were back then.

Going through the 11th chapter of Daniel, here is the breakdown of the King of the North and of the South through history:

Daniel 11:5 -Seleucus l Nicator King of the North, while Ptolemy l King of the South

Daniel 11:6 -Antiochus ll (wife Laodice) North, and Ptolemy ll (daughter Berenice) South

Daniel 11:7-9- Seleucus ll North, and Ptolemy lll South

Daniel 11:10-12 - Antiochus lll North, and Ptolemy lV South

Daniel 11:13-19 -Antiochus lll (daughter Cleopatra l) with successors Seleucus lV and Antiochus lV North, and Ptolemy V with successor Ptolemy Vl South

Daniel 11:20 Augustus North

Daniel11:21-24 Tiberious North

Daniel 11:25,26 Aurelian the Roman Empire breaks down North, and Queen Zenobia South

Daniel 11:27-30a German Empire (World War l) North, and Britain, followed by the Anglo-American World Power South

Daniel 11:30b,31 Hitler's Third Reich (World War ll) North, and Anglo-American World Power South

Daniel 11: 32-43 Communistic bloc (Cold War) North, and Anglo-American World Power South

Daniel 11:44,45 (Yet to rise) North, and Anglo-American World Power South.

The United States making up a part of the King of the South, with the King of the North still yet to be identified.

"The prophecy in Daniel chapter 11 does not foretell the names of the political entities that occupy the positions of the king of the north and the king of the south at various times.Their identities become known only after the events start to occur. Moreover, since the conflict occurs in episodes, there are intervals of no conflict-one king holds sway while the other remains inactive."

Daniel 2:44 says that:" And in the days of those kings the God of heaven willset up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinte."

So no matter who the King of the North is, God's kingdom will destroy it,along with the King of the South. We then should be making sure we are standing firmly on God's side when that occurs.

I think it is as realistic to name USA as the King of the North as it would be to name Russia, Europe or China. Don't forget the New Testament book of Revelations saying 'The Dragon shall rule.' The Dragon is obviously China and they have the Dragon as a symbol. The power varies between countries, but whether we are talking about South America or Africa, the King of the South isn't going to be that hard to beat down. Now who is the Anti-christ?

Sure it can, It could have also applied to Ancient Rome or Britain 200 years ago. If those prophecies don't come true during the United States reign(so to speak) as the worlds super power then the "prophecies" will just be applied to another country that meets the criteria in the future(China,Russia, maybe India).

The King of the North was the Selucid Dynasty. If you absolutely MUST be a dispensationalist, at least get ahold of the original Schofield Reference Bible.

For Adam D - Ironically, this prophesy is not vague at all. It is probably the single most definite "prophesy" in Scripture - so much so that scholars have no doubt whatsoever that it was written *after* the events that it predicts.

read " every Prophecy of the Bible" by J. K. Walvoord.
it really helps. the north isn't the U.S. it's Russia. the
U.S. is called by another Hewbrew name ( it allludes
me right now) and the bible also says " as it was in
Noah's day so shall the end be". so it maybe the
continents will divide again as they did in"Pelegs day"
genesis 10:25. Peleg came after Noah.

You are thinking right now. I believe in a pre-tribulation rapture which will basically gut the United States of power because we will have a whole lot fewer people in comparison to other nations. The King of the North will then be Russia, which is also alluded to in Ezekiel.

No, King of the North is probably Russia, though it could be a European United Community.

I don't think we're in any shape to defeat an Antichrist, I'd go with NATO or the European union. In my opinion America is a part of Europe in the since they're our allies, as we are theirs.
