Depends where you stay in iraq. If youre on a logisitics base you will have KBR catering all your food. It doesnt get any better than that. If youre on a FOB then you will get 1 to 2 hot meals of A-RATIONS per day. If youre in a smaller base which is more common now to provide security, your 1 hot A-RATS meal is usually delivered in the evening from your FOB. Other than that, youre living off of MRE's. If you want to send food, cup of noodles always works.

Regular food served by civilian contractors and MREs when they are not on the FOB; they even have fast food franchises like Burger King, Pizza Hut and Subway available to them in the large FOBs.

They get pretty decent food that's cooked by contractors. Army cooks really don't have a job in a real deployment. The food iscomparable to the quality of a pretty good buffet (golden corral) but with considerably fewer choices (usually 2 or 3). Special meals for holidays and usually once a week on friday or saturday night.

While out on patrol, they probably eat MRE's. While at base, they eat what they'd eat in an army mess hall back home.
Thanks to the Military airlift command and charters, there's no shortage of what they like to eat. Everybody gets at least 2 hot meals a day.
Pizza? Sure!

Umm, well lets see, they patrol streets, in vehicles or on foot, look out for IED's, participate in raids against insurgents, and try to protect the civilian population, a lot of patrolling though.

MRE's once in awhile. If not contractors from Brown and Root make regular food. One special occasion on my base we had Outback. During the holidays they make a okay meal but nothing compared to home.

These people eat pretty darn good when they are not in the field. Most bases have chow halls with some pretty talented food handlers and chefs. In the field, their primary fare is MRE's !
