Does not celibacy violate human laws and moods? If so why it is forced on some religious orders by its heads?

If mute animals are for catering human taste buds or for human consumption why those cry in the agony of pain?

Did I put my question to a wrong forum? Many answers make me think so. I am sad.

Same reason you are for for catering other animals taste buds...doesnt mean you won't cry in pain

Who ever told man he isn't part of the food chain? murder is considered human to human.

Its mutilation if i eat a dog because i didn't want to go to the store.

And non-religious people believe in celibacy until marriage also.

Don't listen to religious fanatics - sleep with everyone you can. There is no such thing as a fulfilling relationship without some good old fashioned woo-hoo-ing! And if you can't find a real person to hook up with, there is always recreational videos and the do-it-yourself approach.

If a large animal came up to you and began lacerating your limbs for consumption because they were hungry, I'm sure YOU would cry in pain as well. Hunger (I.E. the need to eat) and the resultant death which ensues, are a part of the natural order of the world. Animals kill other animals for food every day - why shouldn't we excersize our right to feast freely on that which we are able?

Dear Friend,

CELIBACY is what is called Brahmacharya. That is your mindalways dwell upon Brahman, the ULTIMATE.

Coming to the Celibacy in the wordly sense it is willing. whole hearted willing to abstain from the sensual activity , through Mind,Word and Deed (manasaa, vaachaa and karmanaa)

A disciple or student in olden days is admitted in Gurukul and the Guru the Master teaches him all things gradually one by one depending upon the disciple to understanding and mental maturity. Here Strict Celibacy is observed .It is not against nature.
If you have a desire and forcibly curb it and follow the celibacy the mind will be doing the reverse activity. That is not celibacy.
By strict observance of Celibacy willingly . and practicing the things under a Sadguru will gradually take you to higher peaks and you understand the things that the normal ears .eyes and ming etc can not even grasp. You attain powers that enable you to see things past present and future at a time.,That is the power of Celibacy. The AIMOF ALL THESE IS TO REALISE HIM.Not to do some miracles and magic. If one does by either innocence or arrogance he will fall down like a stone from the top of Hill.He can not recover easily.

Regarding the plants animals that we eat , they are all created by Him only.Take and Consume only what you are prescribed to take and quantity that you should take. This keeps ecological balance.Do not kill unnecessarily anything either Plants or animals. As they have life they naturally cry whren they are used as food. But as long as you are absolutely within your limits it is OK.
Do not think that the ENTIRE NATURE IS THERE FOR YOUR CONSUMPTION.

So Think of Him.Have a balanced mind. Then all is OK.Any thing extra and unwanted you do will give you unhappiness and ill health only.

God bless you with this discretionary powers.
God bless you.

I agree with you about celibacy violates Jewish, on which Christian Religion is based. I can not quote the verse but in the old testament,"to be a good Jew you have to be married and fathered children." In the book of Acts, Peter is told by God that it was not what went to the mouth but what came out. I am sorry but do you believe we should kill animals? I'm one who believes that everything is for man to eat, outside of humans.

I am sorry that you sad.I don't know what to say to you I was raised on a farm with a large family. We raised our own meat and vegetables.I have never thought of killing our pigs and chickens for food as murder.I was raised pagan and in a christian home.

(Many blessings)

They make mute animals? I'm a vegetarian, but I didn't think that the people who slaughter the animals really care if they scream in pain...they think it's just food.

Don't think I'm attacking meat eaters-I could care less what you put in your body, as long as you don't make *me* eat meat. :) :) :)

Even plants have life, but they cannot even cry in pain, when you eat them. They are more helpless then animals.Animals can run away, but plants cannot run so the have to be in your food. They are totally helpless and have to bear the pain silently. So people who think their religions tell them to be vegetarians, they sin the most, because they eat living beings who are totally helpless, cannot defend themselves, cannot speak.

Budhists and Jains believe that celibacy with adherence to other virtues would liberate man from the cycle of births and deaths - the primary source of the cycle being desire and celibacy routes out one of the toughest desires... Lord Jesus recommended that a man not even look at a woman with a lustful eye (avoid the instinct to enjoy her bodily charm in appreciation).. Gandhiji the national leader of India and the protagonist of non violence and truth in public life (as much in private life) and himself a married man, explained at length about the greatness of the virtue of celibacy..

But no religion says you must not procreate in general. Celibacy is prescribed for the "spiritual aspirants" and the clerics (priests in some sections). Moderation and regulation of the instinct is prescribed for the common man in all religions... It can not be and should not be forced on anyone.. But those who naturally have abundant self discipline manage to exploit the instinct for self discovery...

As for the non veg food, once man had to depend entirely on whatever was available to quench his hunger, particularly in hostile arid areas where no vegetation was available.. When he learnt to enjoy the natural veg food that was available or could be cultivated, he switched over to veg food and reduced his dependence on game food... Even the Budhist followers in places like Tibet have to depend on non food due to the terrain with least available edible veg food..

But the best bet is veg food, both in ethical and even in health sense (as peple realize more and more now a days)... Paticularly the difficult virtues like celibacy and vegetarianism are prescribed for the highly evolved human minds.. while the less developed among us - like my self - go on trying to develop such high ethical sense with the hope of winning over our animal instincts someday...

There is belief in Indian villages, that killing anilmals for food (when no other food is available) is not sin (Konna paavam thinna pogum - means the sin of killing goes if eaten.. A Tamil quote often misused to mean that one can kill and escape sin by eating the game..!)

Saint Ramalinga of south India said that he wilted in mind whenever he saw a wilted plant... Such was his sympathy for the creatures of the world.. A story goes that in his previous birth Budha was a saint who gave himself to a hungry pregnant tiger to appease its agony of hunger,, and the great sacrifice earned him the exalted birth as Budha in his next turn of life...

Lots of literatue on the subjets is availabte from the sayings of great souls and published by various organisations.. You can derive lot of inspiration from them...

Brother, pain is part of life, alike for man and all created life.. but it should serve to refine man and elevate him to higher levels of seeking and not enmesh him in the coils of confusion or indulgence.. May your search for Truth be blessed with success by the great souls!
