Try hiding a knife in your hand and when he's ready to be punched put the blade between your fingers and clench it tight in your fist.

Then punch him in the stomach and see if it felt it.

You weight needs to go into the punch. This means turning your hips into the punch and transfering your weight into the punch. For example when you throw a straight right you pivot your back right foot to maximize the power and drive your weight into the delivery. Then you punch through it. Also a turning of the wrist at impact also helps mazimize the power.

in case you're purely punching a bag? Timing to create velocity. concentration of ideas, readability, dedication to the punch. Watch this video of Bruce Lee vs. Chuck Norris. After 4min with Chuck backing into wall freeze physique it at 4.24. there's a humorous looking 2nd while Chuck looks to have his arm prolonged out for little obvious reason. I watched this as quickly as physique by using physique (on dvd?) and there's a circulate so rapid it extremely is not often picked up on action picture; 24 frames consistent with 2nd. See in case you are able to %. what Bruce Lee does. Sorry it extremely is a protracted clarification. between the final combat scenes ever filmed.

First, henballs, that's stabbing someone and not punching

back to the original question, punching harder isn't the answer, as others said before, it comes from your core. To be an efficient "puncher", learn where to attack someone and how to use your lower body and core to get maximum effect
also, punching your cousin isn't the right way to prove you punch hard(not that I'm blaming you). if you really want to prove it, break a board or something (though you even shouldn't bother).

well idunno if you've done any martial arts but punching power comes from your core(strong stance, abs, obliques). most of the time i see people in street fights fight they are punching like professional wrestlers, just swinging their arms you can only get so much power outta that. the proper way is the put your body into it such as a right cross:power comes from a slight pivot on your rear leg and the turning of your body....

people also tend to lose power in their punches because they are tense, because when your muscles are tense it weakens your punch makes them slower and makes you tired faster(think of it as trying to drive while you are stepping on the brakes and gas at the same time....not every effective).

practice punching in the mirror(shadow boxing) and focus on not tensing up yout muscle.

also my coach makes us so pushup claps to work on the explosiveness of our upper body(though some people debate whether or not this is safe...could damage your joints), sit ups to strength your core, and of course hitting the punching bad will add resistance against your punches making the muscles used develop

long story short is proper technique, staying relaxed, and conditioning makes for stronger punches and theres no real quick fix

You will need to strengthen your upper body, including arms, wrists, etc. One respondent said doing a lot of pushups helps. Yes, it does. It also helps to toughen up your fists and knuckles -- doing knuckle pushups helps.

Finally, do a lot of work with a heavy bag. Practice, practice, practice. Keep doing those pushups. In fact, while you are at it, build up your abdominal muscles also. Doing situps and crunches helps.

Well, If all you want is for him to feel it when you punch him in the stomach, then just point behind him and shout " Look it's Jessica Alba!!!" and the moment he turns his head to look behind him, punch him in the belly as hard as you can, he should feel that one pretty hard : P

P.S. When you punch, punch through his belly not at it. That means you imagine you are aiming for your fist to go thru his belly and out thru his spine, and not just to make contact with his stomach and bounce off it.
