They're called Stud Pants and you use a standard medium weight tampax pad in them. They do work pretty good but if the cat has to poop it would be a problem. But if you know her schedule (cats usually poop once a day) you can have it off her at that point.

They're sometimes called piddle pants. Disabled cats wear them as well as spraying tomcats. You can contact any of those sites by email to ask questions.

I'd get a second opinion on the health problems just to be sure.

It could be that your cat doesn't like the carpet, or the smell of it, rather, but here's the deal.

Cats are very aware beings. Much more so than you would think. They notice subtle changes in everything, including your behavior. If the cat perceives a small change in your behavior that it interprets in a reduction in the amount of positive attention you give it, or the cat is introduced to something it views as threatening, such as the smell of a new carpet, the cat will very likely do the only thing it can do that makes it feel secure. Pee on something.

This is akin to surrounding yourself with familiar things or re-asserting your claim on something.

The solution is to make your cat feel secure. You do this by giving your cat extra positive attention and making the cat feel more like a part of your life.

Something tells me the diapers will not have this effect.

Also, go to the pet store and get yourself some cat urine modor remover like Natrure's Miracle or Simple Solutions and use it on the spots as directed.

I have the same problem. Been to multiple vets, spent too much money - so don't tell me to take her to a vet and don't tell me to take her to an animal behaviorist...done that as well. It is down to diapers or well, there are no other options. Has anyone else out there done it? How did you get them used to it? What brands are best, Etc...right now I am using size 3 luvs with a hole cut for the tail turned around backwards. She seem to do okay and doesn't bite at it...she moves around fine. I am just wondering long term, how do you keep them from getting diaper rash, etc...Anyone out there with a disabled or older incontinent cat who has maybe done this, please chime in....But please, don't chime in telling me to change vets, change litter, and all of that stuff...been there, done that, we're at the end of the line.

Now, now, don't be silly. Nappies are for babies, and are not a solution. Has she been doctored? If she has, and she's still peeing, she's got a serious problem, and so have you. Cats don't usually pee anywhere other than on the soil in a garden or in a litter-tray. Are you sure she isn't incontinent and has lost control of her bladder? As for your vet, he or she clearly has no intention of examining your cat. So my advice to you is forget the nappies, but register with a decent vet; yours sounds c.....p.

Well, first of all, is your cat incontinent due to age or does she have a physical issue with kidneys/bladder? If this is a health problem, you need to take the animal to the vet. If this is more behavioral in nature, treating the symptoms instead of the cause is only a temporary solution.

Wow I've never heard of those before...if they are not supplied at PetSmart or Petco, try searching for them online. If nothing comes up, ask your vet and she will know where to get some.
