I usually tell them whenever it gets serious, theres no need to tell them when were just dating cause it might no go anywhere. But my mom is usually chill and my dad ususally assumes the worst. haha! Good luck!:]

I was raised rather strict or maybe protected. I had to ask permission of my parents to go out with a boy. It most certainly had to be someone they knew or at least knew the parents. I think now that it is the best way. I was much safer that way and my parents were a part of my life. Kids nowadays could learn a lot from the old timers. Tell them right away is the correct answer!

I think you should wait till you think it's serious and going to last a little while ( at least 2 months). Well my parents usually say get to know him first and then u should start getting more and more serious. One of my experiences is when i was dating this guy for a month and suddenly he broke up with me. i really liked him, but i guess he didn't like me as much. i found out he was dating me to make his ex girlfriend of 1 year jealous, when he said we were done he went back to his ex girlfriend. =(

Never tell your parents unless you really like the guy. I made the mistake of talking about a guy I went out on a date with (I didn't really like him), and my parents wouldn't stop asking about him! Also, sometimes it's good to bring the guy by the house. You'll be suprised how much good feedback your parents can sometimes give you (do this when you are sure you really like the guy).

I wait till its more serious to tell my parents that I am dating this guy. I will tell them at first that Im seeing a boy but I wont really give any details until its serious enough for me to call it a real relationship.

Now that Im older they dont pressure me about it. They just want me to be safe and sometimes they joke about getting "booty."

i wait until its more serious, because you don't want your parets that you go from boyfriend to boyfriend just like that. If i'm serious about a guy, i introduce him to my parents because I know that we actually have something real and its worth telling my parents about. If it's just a fling, I don't bother. I've told my parents about my current boyfriend after we knew we were in love, and we've been together for 3 years now :)

I'd tell right away, just in case something would happen, at least they would know and that shows that you are a smart responsible person. Believe me honesty is the best policy.

I don't tell my parents about any of my dates really. I'll probably end up following my big cousin's example and just tell them when I tie the knot.

depends how your parents are maybe you should cause if your hanging out with a guy or something and you are somewhere and your family don't know where your at you should let your parents know so they know that your with that guy and they know he is your bf and so they know what is going on but doesn't mean everybody needs to know your business but the best answer is to tell them cause like i said before if you hanging out with that guy and your parents don't know you got a bf and your hanging out with them stuff can happen trust me i know alot more than people think but my dad is gone but my mom sometimes she doesn't like who i date but she can't stop me so even if your parents don't accept who your with doesn't mean you have too stop dating that guy its your life your chose so maybe that should answer stuff for you
