well my tooth was chipped biting on a fork not too long ago and it doesn't look too bad but it bothers me(emotionally) I was thinking, because part of the tooth did not actually break off but just a small sect of the outer area of the tooth, coudn't the tooth in a way rebuld itself, smoothen and return to it's original look over time with the help of mouth wash and repeated brushing over the chipped area? I don't want to go to the dentist for this. I believe something can happen that can change the look besides the dentist

Teeth do not rebuild themselves, even with the best home care.

Just go to the dentist~ Maybe all you will need is to have the chipped area smoothed a bit and nothing else (If the chip is a tiny one). If you leave it alone and the chip keeps getting bigger, a more invasive procedure may need to be done.

Best of luck!

No, your tooth will not and cannot rebuild or reform itself in any way. The only change which could occur is a general smoothing of the chip over a period of years. Go to the dentist. If you are not having pain because of the chip, the dentist will probably not have to use an anesthetic to repair the tooth. Is that why you are reluctant to go? Because of the needle? Not to fear, it wouldn't hurt.

If it is some other reason, you'll have to deal with that on your own. Honestly, your tooth will look just like it does now until you do something about it.

Sorry cant avoid going to the dentist if u want it to look right. sorry it won't grow back. Ive had a few of my teeth chipped so bad that i went to the dentist, and he had to use some sort of tooth filler to reshape my teeth, he basically had to rebild my teeth. And its alot more fragile then real teeth, so i cant rip anything open using my teeth anymore, or it chips again and i have to have it redone.
