My bf and I recently got back together (about a month ago), and at the beginning, he was very romantic, always telling me he loved me, etc. (We dated for a year before, and we're both 24). Anyway, recently, he's stopped saying that so much...now he only says it in response to my saying it first. I mentioned to him today that I would really like to hear how he feels about me more often. He said my telling him that makes him want to be more standoffish and not say "i love you" as much.

So, my question is...what do I do? How do I make myself feel better if trying to talk to him about it just pushes him away? What will make him tell me this more often?

Nothing really, maybe if he pulls his head out of his... and realize he isn't in a pride fight with the love of his life, but don't hold your breat. This is typical of relationships that go back and forth (only takes once to be in the category) were the issues from the past relationship are forgiven (not really) because of the new hope of the "new" relationship. Unfornutely you can't actually end a relationship unless one of you dies, so its a fantasy, its fake, the truth will come later. Which is were your at now, your only fix, talk HONESTLY about this, don't pull any punches, realize romance should of been best left for relationships as they grow together, not to force them together in the beganing, but were all pretty intimate stupid so we miss this natural thing up. That aside you guys need to work on that relationship because I find it hard to believe your only complaint is that he doesn't say "I love you" enough, lol sorry he really did strait slap your heart there and you just took it, I hope you felt that because YOU didn't deserve that.....
