i would rather not say what company i work last time i did i got written up but we sell hd tv's lcd tv's and accessories

everyone company wide got this on suggestion of an executive secretary her idea we usually get wal mart cards or visa gift card i think she sells gummy bears on the side

Not knowing your situation, I can't offer very good advice.
If there is a written agreement outlining the policies on distributing bonuses (for instance in an employee handbook), you can take that to your Human Resources Manager or upper management and the problem should be taken care of.
Did everyone else receive their bonus in this fashion?
Whatever the case, I would make an appointment (or however you get in touch) with your boss regarding the issue. Take the Gummy Tree with you. Sit down and calmly tell him that this form of bonus is unacceptable to you. Say something like, "You must certainly be able to understand that I cannot pay my bills with Gummy Bears". Tell him that in the future you would like your bonuses in the form of cash or check. Don't budge on the matter. Try and get other employees in the same boat with you to support you on this.
If he will not change his policy, I would immediately begin looking for another position. I think that is an absolutely ridiculous way to distribute bonuses.
I hope you get this resolved.

He gave you $225.00 worth of Gummy Bears on a tree? Are you kidding me!?!
I would go into his office and tell him that you appreciate the thoughtful gesture but you would much rather have the money at this point and then think of some lie why you need the money!
Or just tell him you're borderline diabetic and you cant have all that sugar!! HAHAHAHA!

Was this his idea of a joke? If so, tell him he has a warped sense of humor. If you feel you really deserved the $225.00 bonus, I'd certainly speak to him about it. No gummy bear tree will take the place of cash. If he refuses to give you what's rightfully owing to you, I'd look for another job.

The proper response to any gift is "Thank you." A gift is just that--a gift. It is not deserved, nor can it be "ordered up" like a pizza topping.
If a bonus is part of your job's compensation package, you can ask others what they receive/received in the past and gauge if this year's bonus was unusual. Otherwise, $225 isn't bad.
While a gummy bear tree (whatever that is) would not be my choice for a gift, nor would it fit my diet, I still would receive it graciously and give proper thanks. A written thank you card would be appropriate, too. (It would also prevent you from spitting in the boss's face when you give your sarcastic thank you, thereby protecting your NEXT YEAR'S bonus!)

Maybe you shouldn't tell him to stick it where the sun doesn't shine... just go for it. or better yet, just dump that sh*t all over his car so when he goes to his car after work, he'll see how thought out his stupid bonus was. stupid gummybear tree... a$$hole...

That's $225 more than you would have gotten. Maybe he thought he was being funny. Just be happy with what you got because some people didn't even get that this month.
