well my little brother was palying around with my hp computer
when the computer came on he pressed F10 and started a system recovery. is there any way i can get back my work becuase i'm a college and i had written a very very important paper on that computer... please please help me.... i'm in a major crisis .. i need help, it was a 20 page paper and i don't know if i will be able to do it again by wed. so please help me... HELLLPPPPPPPP... !!!!

Now did it do a full restore, or wast it interrupted. If it was interrupted your system and files may still be intact. Otherwise I don't know anything about the HP F10 recovery thing.

Depends if it's done a destructive recovery or a non-destructive recovery. A non-destructive recovery will just reinstall windows files and hp files that came with the computer, leaving the hard drive intact, so you might be able to just search or browse for your files again.

As for a destructive recovery, you guessed it, is the opposite. It erases everything on the hard drive and reinstalls the operating system and programs back to factory default, leaving you with a brand-new computer, software-wise.

Btw there should be at least 2 screens with big warning words telling you what you're about to do before it actually starts the recovery process..
