they tied it to the tails of homing guppies, which the whale would swallow at feeding time. packages that were too large for the guppies were sent by special dolphin delivery. the ups guy would hold the dolphin’s fin in one hand, the package in the other, and the dolphin would hurl him into the guppie school just at feeding time [this didn’t disrupt classes, as the guppie school always took recess at this time]. they didn’t have scuba gear back then, so the ups guy had to learn to hold his breath. he often got eaten, because the whale didn’t like the stone chips every time jonah had to sign for a package. needless to say, jonah soon gave up shopping on bc-bay. he got tired of hearing the guppies shout ‘the whale sucks and the ups guy gets swallowed!’

Unfortunately the Bible does not have this information available. But if Jonah needed the mail while inside of the whale, I am confident that God provided him the way to get to his mail. : )

Maybe he submitted a holy Hold Mail Request to the post office before his run-in with Willy?

In those days, everybody that was anybody talked to God. So basically, God would take a message, convey it to Jonah, Jonah would formulate a reply, give it to God, and God would deliver the message. After a few years of this, God got tired of being everybody's little go-fer, and decided to drown the whole lot of them.
