As a lower back sufferer for years, I can categorically tell you that a water bed is THE LAST thing you want to lie on if you suffer from back pain.

There is nothing to beat a good old-fashioned stiff mattress!

No! They offer no support to your spine and if you have back, shoulder or hip problems, a water bed could make these problems worse.

No but they are dead funny if you do a massive fart on them and lay totally still - you can fel the ripploes run through the bed.

Not really, you'd need a good firm mattress, and waterbeds tend to be soft and sloshy.

I don't think so. Futons are better. They take a while to get used to though!
