My dog has allergies to some meats. Not just chicken and beef, but bison, duck, venison and turkey as well. He does not like lamb, but will eat it when he is too hungry. Also, he does not do well with some starches such as potato and rice. He is a GSD and dobie mix. The vets he has seen tell us he should be about 70 lbs. according to his skeletal structure, but we are excited to see him at his current weight of 57 lbs. With lamb, his weight drops because he only eats 1 or 2 cups a day of it.
Right now he is on Pro Plan Sensitve formula, with Salmon. He will eat 5 to 8 cups a day on it, but still no gain. He doesn't take well to supplements, either. Right now he still has skin issues from allergies on that.
I tried cooking for him, and he loves it, but it ends up complicated, and I am horrable at cooking. I burn ramen.
He also has seperation anxiety and other disorders, which I think contribute to his weight, so I need the best thing for him.
Any ideas?

I checked the answers so far. My problem is that I can't use anything with rice, corn, or chicken fat. So far, those seem to be the suggestions. Thanks for trying, but that doesn't help.

futuredvm; I usually give each test 2 to 3 weeks. I went from super-bland food (and he hated me) and tested for each reaction. I work at PETCO (bad referance, I know), but I accually make an effort to know what I am selling. I also do the canine ed there, but I was a canine behavior consultant before that.
I will talk to my vet and see with that. I may get a bit later, as we are about out of food right now, so I have enough for the transfer. Thanks :)

Maybe try the Orijen 6 Fresh fish with Sea vegatibles for dogs with allergies. My dogs eat the regular adult Orijen and they love it - even my picky eater loves it. It does however contain Potatoes and i see your dog doesn't do well with Potatoes either.

Or maybe try the Natural Balance Fish and Sweet Potato formula instead.

The relatively short gastrointestinal system of dogs is evolved to metabolize a diet high in protein but lacks the enzymes needed to efficiently digest carbohydrates and complex sugars.

Natural Balance® Sweet Potato & Fish Formula is a proven formula for dogs with allergies based on our unique single source protein and single source carbohydrate blend. Read some Testimonials!

Some dogs may be highly sensitive to commonly used proteins, carbohydrates and food additives in their diet. Allergic reactions can lead to irritable bowel, upset stomach, and a number of skin problems. Natural Balance® has created Sweet Potato & Fish formula for dogs with these food allergies. Our Sweet Potato & Fish formula combines fresh salmon, a single source of animal protein that most dogs have not been exposed to, and fresh sweet potatoes, a single source of carbohydrate not commonly found in dog foods, along with effective natural ingredients to help rebuild the dog's immune system.

Have you tried Hill's z/d ULTRA? The protein source in this is virtually non-detectable therefore your dog should not have a reaction to this as long as it is truly a food allergy. Dogs can be allergic to food as well as inhalant allergens. Another concern is that when a dog is on a food trial, they can have no other type of food, treat or heartworm preventative with a flavoring. You will also have to keep your dog on this food for at least 6 to 8 weeks to start seeing results. I would consult a behaviorist for the separation anxiety. Your dog may need behavior modification training plus or minus medications.

Try a raw diet. I feed a raw prey model diet, and none of my dogs have allergy issues.

Many people on the rawfeeding group on yahoo have had dogs with allergies, and most of them found that their dogs were only allergic to the proteins when they had been cooked. My dog had been allergic to lamb in kibble, but has no problems with raw lamb. The proteins are changed when foods are cooked.

Since your dog has so many issues with so many proteins... I'd definitely try the raw prey model diet.

And here is the yahoo rawfeeding group... They can help you get started and provide support during the feeding when you have questions:

Our golden had LOTS of allergies when he was little..... one time I looked on his lower belly and he was raw and red. It was a shock to me!! This is what I did. I took him to be treated of course....then I started to put on Gold Bond powder after it was mostly healed. I put him on special diets recommended by our Vet (Salmon diet...quite bland but a good food). However, that was quite expensive. I stopped that diet and put him on Nutro Natural Choice for large breeds (Lamb meal and rice formula). I know you said that yours can't have rice....but, I'm not done yet.... I cut chicken from his diet which helped, and we rid of all our old, sickly worn rugs and got high quality laminate floors. I give him veggies only in his dry food (no meats of any kind)...like greenbeans, carrots, broccoli for example. And, he gets raw baby carrots as his treats, and ice cubes to crunch on, or raw broccoli heads. Guess what?.......................NO MORE ALLERGIES for the past 10 months!!! I sure hope that some of my story will help you with your furry friends allergies. Good luck to you now! ;o)
