How do they decide what neighborhoods/houses to go to? I've never had a mormon or JW come to my house, and I think it'd be fun if one did (even tho I know I wouldn't convert).

By the way, I'm an atheist, I just think they'd be fun to talk to. So that rules out me praying about it ;) But I just requested a copy of their book, so I should have a visit any day now. Thanks :)

The district in which you live may not be in the tracting area of the missionaries. Moreover, the teams of missionaries are cutting back in some areas.

But if you're really interested in having LDS missionaries visit with you, then log on to lds.org and look around where you can ask for a free Book of Mormon. A pair of missionaries will bring it to you--free of charge.

Kenny, I'm glad you ordered a Book of Mormon. The missionaries will explain, but will not become contentious with you.

Requesting a Book of Mormon should bring em to your door.

As for the rhyme or reason for them coming to your door....there's not much.

Missionaries have a geographical area that a pair is responsible for. These can vary greatly in size and population.

If you live out in the middle of nowhere, they probably wouldn't find you on their own. If there are 2 missionaries responsible for the area that you live in, and there are 2 Million people in that area, the chances are also slim. Maybe they've knocked on your door when you weren't there. Maybe the work more with the members for referals than they do "knocking doors".

You requested a Book of Mormon....

When you read it, try as hard as you can to read humbly, sincerly, with an open mind, and an open heart. It sounds like you'll read it, but with loads of cynicism.

Open your heart as you read it. When you get to the end....take Moroni (an ancient prophet) up on his challenge to pray to find out if it's true or not.

It can change your life.....for the better....if you let it.

i visit faux for 5 minutes which you're unquestionably asking and not trolling to be rude to Mormons. They try this to discover people who may well be interested in listening to approximately Jesus Christ. yet maximum Mormon missionaries hate "door-knocking". They discover that is not any longer in many cases an efficient thank you to discover a coaching pool. they have extra success from LDS individuals who introduce their acquaintances to missionaries. there's a lot that they did no longer practice or inform you, so which you will no longer bypass to hell over a 5-minute come upon. yet earlier you choose the Mormons for our ideals, shouldn't you get to renowned what we've self assurance?

the chamber of commerce in my town is totally under the control of the Mormons and the CEO there directs where the missionaries should go in the town. The CEO is supposedly some big Bishop within the Mormon church and that is what they are trying to do is put these people in positions of power in towns and cities.

Oh, I thought you said "door-to door morons"! Don't know how they pick their hits, but when they interrupt my yard work to ask if I'm spiritually okay, I say "Yes, thank you." That pretty much gets them interested in looking for another prospect.

Yes, it is even worse to have faith in the wrong thing or god than not to believe in God at all. Eternally both are bad choices. : )
