Oh honey, dont let these people rush you, each kid is different, Cant you find some adult diapers like depends, perhaps a small or very small adult will work, If you push that poor child to grow up too fast, he may suffer psycological problems, Let him drink a bottle, use a binkie, and wear diapers until he is ready to potty train, Although you may have to train him to change his diaper in a couple of years, but that would "depend" on the amount of hours spent in school,, Good luck and rock that baby

Actually most children are already potty trained by this time, Most people start around age 2 to 3. So I think it would be a great idea if you started this way when the child is 5 and in school he won't still be in diapers, As for the diaper situation I suggest you look into pullups.

Personally I believe you should have started introducing him to the potty before now, but I also have a 3.5yr old who will not use the toilet. I had him almost potty trained at 2 and then we moved and he has not wanted anything to do with it since. So I suggest you start having him sit on the potty when you go to the bathroom. My sons ped. told me not to stress over it he will get it when he is ready. His comment was how many 15-16 yr old do you know that walk around in depends because their mom did not potty train them...NONE! They will get it when they are ready. Good luck on your new adventure.

Most kids start potty training between 18-24 months. By 4 years old, they should be potty trained.
Good luck finding diapers..maybe Pull-ups or Goodnights?

Wow. Yes definitely potty train the child! The child should be old enough by now(actually a long time ago) to understand this concept (unless of course they have a disability that makes that difficult).Plus you will want her/him to have a good command of this task before starting Kindergarten at age 5.

I started putting my girls on the potty at about 2 just to introduce the concept. So they were both out of diapers by 3.
You have to be consistent and don't fuss at them when they make a mistake, this only sets them back.

I don't want to be mean but I saw both of your questions. Unless this child has a disability he doesn't need to be in diapers or be drinking from a bottle. My son had a mild learning disorder and slight developmental delay due to problems in my pregnancy. But, he was off the bottle at 15 months and out of diapers by 3. I think you should see his doctor for further advice.

Yes. But you want to get pull ups for her. They come in i think the biggest is 4T-5T. My daughter is 4 years old. She is potty trained through the day. At night though she bedwets almost everynight. I took her to the docs and found out she has an overactive bladder. She is being treated with a med called Imipran. But I get her the 5T-6T size pull ups. Depends on her weight and what size she is. My daughter is just now getting a gut on her. She is very petite though. Good luck!

definitely! no offense, but u could have started a lot earlier. is ur child showing interest in the potty? probably by four they are. if not, you should still start trying to train them, b/c four is getting big to be in diapers. it could cause self esteem issues for your child, and its not really pleasant for u either:)
if ur child is not interested in the potty, try and do fun things like a sticker chart, and special toys and books that he/she can have only on the potty.
good luck!

Girl that child should of been potty trained before now. They can't get into preschool with pull up diapers on. At least not at ours! Get that child to the potty and start ASAP. You are running behind.
