I'm 15 years old and I have an 8.1 handicap.
It should be lower, but I always throw away a few short game strokes, along with about one drive that I try hitting too hard and end up topping.

I play at the Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon, CA. It's the 4th hardest course in Northern California.

I go to De La Salle high school. Best Sports school in the country. Last two years, we've won state and this year, came in 3rd.

I played on the JV team last year (freshman) because I had only been playing golf for about 1/2 year.

I'm pretty much self taught. I took a few begginer lessons, and just played on my own for a bout a year, and I'm now training with a great coach as I'm playing in more tournaments and stuff.
My coaches website: http://www.systemgolf.com/

I'm a member of the JGANC (Junior Golf Association of Northern California). They have lots of tournaments year round.

I think that's about it!

Tell me about yourself the same way I did.

I should probably get around to taking some lessons one of these days. I'm completely self taught, didn't pick up a golf club until I was 18, didn't start playing until I was 23 with a few years off in the middle.

I got a part-time job at a golf course last spring so I could play as much as I wanted, which took about 12 strokes off my game. At my best I shot mid to high 80's regularly. Not that good, I know, but I love the game so my score is the second most important part of a round of golf for me.

Cobra 3R Hybrid 210-230
Taylor Made RAC Tour Irons

Handicap Index- +1.4

I use a range finder to know how far I hit each particular club whether its full swing, more than full or choke down on the shaft. Don't make the fatal mistake of getting caught up in how far someone else hits their clubs. Know your distances with each club and they will be more impressed with your distance control when they are chipping onto the green because they hit one to two less clubs and made a bad swing.

Wedge 116-119
7 iron 152-155
5 iron 173-178
3 iron 200-205

These are my yardages on normal swings, nothing fancy before making adjustments for wind, slope and pin position.....

The easiest way to learn golf like a pro is by following "The Simple Golf Swing" program. It's primarily a 31 page eBook that teaches golfers how to make solid contact with the ball, how to avoid hitting fat, how to avoid slicing, how get more power, accuracy, and consistency in your swing. Consistency being the number 1 golf skill.

You not only get the eBook though, you also receive a ton of extra material including video, lessons on putting, driving, chipping, sand play etc. Here is their official site: http://www.golfswingguru.net
