Try some dry food from purina that is specifically for kittens, their food is pretty good.
As for where to put him. Well where does he/she like to be. Get a little bed for it, get a basket and put in a pillow for him/her. Place the bed in an area that the kitten seems to like to sleep, maybe the frontroom or your room. Put the kitten in his/her new bed and play with it so that he/she knows that this is a good place to be. Also keep a favorite toy there whenever he/she is not playing with it.
To litter train your kitten you will need to be very vigilant and put the kitten in the litter box about every 30min. to an hour after it has eaten, until he/she uses the litter box and to teach the kitten where it is located. After a few days it should go to the litter box on its own. Be sure to keep the litter box clean because cats do not like to use a dirty litter box.

Enjoy your kitten , they are alot of fun!

If he wasn't taken away from his mother too early, he will be litter trained. Just put the box somewhere vaguely private and away from his food, and make sure he knows where it is. In the event he does poop somewhere else, put the poo in his tray. And if you see him about to poo or wee, pop him in his tray to remind him where's appropriate!

He needs to be on kitten food until he's about a year old. Most brands are fine for a kitten, but for an adult cat you might want to steer clear of supermarket brands like whiskas, felix, meow mix and fancy feast - these are all brands that will make him fat if he's that way inclined! Best to get him used to 3 set meals a day at that age, not leaving food down all the time for him to pick at. An adult cat should really have two meals a day.

He needs vaccinations, defleaing and worming - even if he doesn't have fleas, because prevention is better than cure. See your vet about these things, all fairly easy to sort out. He needs them even if he's an indoor cat, believe me.

He'll also need castrating at age 5-6 months in case he ever goes outside and finds a mate (and he'll want to once he reaches a certain age).

Other than that, give him cuddles and play with him lots! Oh, as to where to put him - up to you, some people let their cat have the complete run of the house, other people have restrictions, like rooms with furniture in that they're worried about! Get him a scratch post and put his little paws on it if he starts to scratch things.

What do you mean where do you put him? Put him in your house and let him run around in there- don't let him outside because he is far too young. Feed him kitten food from the pet store- use a brand like Science Diet or Innova.
Show him where his litter box is and he will use it- they naturally know to use the litter box. Just show him it a few times and he'll get used to it.
Did you find the kitten outside? He needs to see a vet to check for illnesses and he needs vaccinations which should have started at 6 weeks of age.

give him some kitten/cat milk avalable in stores.. he really needs that.. also make sure he does not go outside.. buy a little bed for him or take a basket and put a pillow in it... he might not sleep in his bed but its worth a shot.. go to the vet and get some deworming medicine. all kittens are born with worms.. this is very important. as for litter use thick non clumping litter..
and just put him in the litter box and take his paw and scratch it in the litter.. this will tell him that this is his litter..
also note some very important facts for yr kitten..
chocolate or chocolate products are very posionous for cats.. as well as make sure there is no rat poison in yr house.. keep the windows and doors locked at all times..
and dont feed him normal human milk.. cats are lactose intolerent..
put a little collar around his neck and put yr address and phone on it by attaching a tag..

The other posters are absolutely right. It's his house, let him have the run of it. You will have to decontaminate the house so it is safe for him, otherwise he will pull things down on top of himself, knock flower pots and knick knacks over, etc. And believe me, he will get onto and into everything. Don't underestimate him! Always check the refrigerator, the dryer, the oven, the dishwasher, even the microwave before you close it, as kittens (and cats) are very, very good at sneaking into these appliances. Try your best to stay one step ahead of him, and good luck.
