It would depend upon which denomination or sect of Christianity you're talking about. A few the more hardline churches frown upon "worldly" music of any sort, which would certainly include most rock n' roll. But my church doesn't have any problem with it.

No, but I would have qualms with anyone who listens to Journey and Foreigner. They're like Michael Bolton with guitars. Some fundamentalists oppose all secular and rock music, even the tame, vanilla-flavored groups you listed. But most Christians don't oppose rock music.

would it comprimise your walk with the Lord

would you love the music and musicians and their words more that the Lord.

would listening to this stuff take time away from your listening to praise and worship time with Him.

I listen to "easy listening "all day at my office nobody in there but me alone, when a song from Foreigner comes on I think of my hubby.
oh theres one now, but I never take my eyees of the Lord of my life. how about you?

its about you and the Lord not you and the church....>>> we arnt religious we are Christlike, you can talk about my christian church and I wont be offended but about my Lord and I on his side because he first loved me.

and if a song degrades my Lord I simply change it. God Bless

It is required in church to listen to Slayer, Amon Amarth, and Ministry.

Ask yourself better questions than "would the church object?"

Questions like:
Is it expedient?
Does it glorify God?
Why do I want to listen to it?
Does it promote sin?
Can my time be spent better?

Forgive my ignorance of these bands, and the lack of time I have to look them up.

coming to know Jesus personally gives one liberty, yet does it put down Jesus and the good life in Joy and inner peace?
Jesus says we are His church and the temple of the Holy Spirit once we receive him. There are all types in Jesus and in the physcal buildings of the structured Church

I am born Jewish and finally believed Revelation 3:19&20 where Jesus says he loves us and asks us to repent and let him into our heart to be our savior and best friend.

I would truely come to know Jesus personally and then check out what Jesus teaches in the joy of salvation, telling how I let Jesus into my heart, -i told of faith Romans 10:17 that comes from hearing the word of God and Salvation with Jesus as my best friend.

peace and best to you, David the sweet pea
