Hello,

Will running on biodiesel get you more MPG or is it just the benefit of Biodiesel being cheaper?

I saw a HUmmer H2 on eBay with a 6.6 duramax doing 28MPG I believe it was on biodiesel.

I want a 2008 Ford F250 and I want to see if I can get it on Biodiesel how many MPG will it get me?

People have reported small increases AND small decreases in fuel economy using biodiesel. Depends on the user.

The point of biodiesel is that it is renewable. If you make it yourself, then it *may* be cheaper than petrodiesel.

If you buy it from someone who has made it, it may or may not be cheaper than petrodiesel.

Here is a link to a map where you can find Biodiesel producers and/or retailers in your area:

I can say what ever I want on ebay and there are people to beleive it...

On those, no more than I think it's 10% biodiesel... anymore gels up the filters and there is said to be some issues with biodiesel causing issues with the fuel injectors.

Ford actually recommends 5% max, but I think in Illinois, they are mandating 10% so I think that's where the latest Ford stands currently.

A 2008 6.4L equipped F-250 is NOT to be run on more than 5% bio-diesel. Regarding fuel consumption, depends on too many variables to be able to give you any realistic figures. Here is the link that spells it out clearly in the black and white:

you cant run it.

5% bio is the max for the new 6.4 twin turbo diesel powerstroke.

unless you like voiding the warranty on a $50,000 truck's $10,000 engine.

oh and by the way, spending 50k on a truck to try and save some gas money? are you drunk? try buying a 15 year old diesel, run regular diesel fuel, and save 30,000 in ten years.

all diesel can run on bio diesel but it gets about the same mpg as a regular diesel considering you will haul or tow with it, maybe about 10% more than diesel

B5 max. You probably won't see increased mpg but bio-diesel is cheaper to get.
