I don't think so!
My Pastor doesn't get enough money to live on! And that is true for many Preachers in the World, There isn't that much money in Preaching. Especially when people don't even pay there 10%!!!

Many have bought into the purpose driven church that Rick Warren teaches. It simply looks at church as a business and a helping station for the poor and addicted. The helps offered are psychology and food mostly. What people are starving for is the hope that Jesus and the Gospel offers. I hope the American preachers wake up soon.

Because satan has a plan and purpose in place on this earth as well. If he can keep people mezmerized by all the dog and pony shenanigans that go on in most churches, and the razzle dazzle of "signs and wonders", then he keeps them from the REAL truth that is found thru studying the scriptures and knowing where OUR mail is found.
Anyone who "preaches" for the sake of money we are told to consider a false prophet. God doesnt NEED your money. He wants you to believe Him and be saved.

I'm not agreeing saying that preachers are in it just for the money, but there is a preacher nearby whose church is MASSIVE. He makes over a million a year!!!
What messenger of God needs that kind of money? Isn't being materialistic or greedy a sin of some sort?

Jesus spoke about this happening.
Mat 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Are you surprised at this? You shouldn't be:
Mat 24:25 Behold, I have told you before.
Don't let it upset your faith. As Peter tells us:
1Pe 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

It's a lucrative, get rich quick business........just turn on the t.v.
There are a lot of people out there who are looking for a savior, something that they can see! Some people's walk of faith is by sight, they need proof of something that's been promised.
So, along come the "wolves" in sheep's clothing and lead many off onto a path of destruction.
The only true savior of mankind, is the one they fail to recognize: JESUS CHRIST!

My pastor is filled with God's Holy Spirit.. and he is not at all into money.... He cares about his congration, and his family....
I have actually 7 pastors at my church, and a large staff... and they don't care about money that is just a by-standard,,, they care so much about use as members...... you can see the passion in there eyes to preach the Word of God to us...

very good question. some preachers, believe it or not, really do care about peoples souls.... seems more than not though, they care about the money...... bothers me too.
