Because it was on FOX

That was a judgement call on the part of FOX network censors. Thanks to very stiff fines by the FCC, all live broadcasts are time delayed so that censors can block bad language, some body parts, and any political options that are a bit too free. Canadians enjoyed the unfettered speech by Sally. I think that's called freedom of speech, but I'm an American and I'm beginning to forget about that concept thanks to persistent, repetitive messages from our benign media. It appeared to me to be political censorship. Here's a quote from an online article.

"Technically, Field's censored words are not profane. A 2004 FCC ruling specifically stated no objection to the use of "goddamn" on TV when making a judgment on the uproar over Bono swearing at the Golden Globes in 2003 where he used more colorful language." (see http://www.fcc.gov/eb/Orders/2004/FCC-04-43A1.html)
