God realized that the Law He set up could not make us perfect. why? you ask. good question..
The bible tells us that the law could not make us perfect, because it was weak through the flesh. meaning that, while we were living by the mandates of our sinful nature (i.e flesh) we could not keep God's law. God knew that the only way for us to keep it was to give us a new heart (i.e. nature) This is done by baptism INTO Christ. meaning accepting His death burial and ressurection as payment for what we could not do.
make sense?

What was in the Old Testament was the laws and social order of the times. We have a different set of laws and things that are socially acceptable or not acceptable as well. What GOD GAVE THE PEOPLE was the ten commandments. The laws for
punishment of certain crimes was of the people, not of God. Christ stated that He did not come to change one jot of the law;
whatever laws for social justice are in place by man and respected by God. Murder and rape are to be punishable by death according to God, because the criminal cannot find forgiveness in the flesh for these two crimes - forgiveness MAY be
given, but the person has to go to the Father. In the case of murder, that criminal will face his victim(s), who has a large part in deciding whether they are forgiven or not.
As far as dumping the Old Testament and only concentrating on the New Testament, thats a huge mistake made by Christians all the time, thanks to Churches who teach
false doctrine. ALL OF GODS WORD is to be read with understanding. That means verse by verse, in context, so that the subject and object of what is being discussed can be followed and understood.
If a Christian does not recognize the Old Testament, that means they are dumping all of the Writings of the Prophets, and those writings are for the end times - Daniel was even told to shut the book because it was not yet time for it -
In fact, speaking of Daniel, Christ Himself gives credentials to Daniel in Mark 13, making it essentially a part of the New Testament. The same with the Prophet Joel and others;
Yes, its certainly the same God in both the Old and the New Testaments. No way are the Old Testament writings "outdated"; thats
about as blasphemous a statement as I have heard for a long time. God help the idiot who actually calls those Prophets writings "outdated"; when you do that, you are calling Jesus Christ "outdated", since may I remind you all that the Scriptures are the WORD OF GOD. What does John 1:1 say about this WORD OF GOD???
"In the beginning was the WORD and the WORD was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD". Jesus Christ is the name given to that Word of God the Father, when he came in the flesh - Emmanuel - God with us. If you say that part of the Scriptures are outdated, you just said that Jesus Christ is outdated, and thats dispicable at best.
What the hell are the churches teaching anyway? God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He did not say that he was only the same in the Old Testament up to a certain time, and then he was the same for the New Testament, did he? No, in my Bible it says He is the SAME YESTERDAY TODAY AND FOREVER.
I should also remind folks that when Lazarus and the rich man died, the rich man begged for an Angel to send someone to talk to his brothers so they wouldn't end up like him - what was he told?
HE WAS TOLD THAT THE PROPHETS WERE SENT AND IF A PERSON DID NOT LISTEN TO THEM, THEY WOULDN'T LISTEN TO ANYBODY. Where are the Writings of those Prophets??
IN THE OLD TESTAMENT.
If you discard those writings, you are missing out on a great deal of what God wants you to know and understand.
Any Priest or Pastor who teaches that should remove the cloth and stop teaching false doctrine. He is stealing from the people; stealing a great deal of important information and truths that God wants the people to know.

And you missed one.... Name above all names. Worthy of all Praise, my heart will say how great is Our God.
Yes, the Old and New Testaments are linked together. It is called the scarlet tread. There are links all over the place in the Old Testament that show God's Mercy and Grace. So I say no, as a Christian I know that the Old Testament still applies as well. Jesus didn't come to replace the law but to fulfill it.

So does that mean that only the New Testament is valid Christian scripture!? Callooh Callay! That means that it pretty much is entirely composed of Jesus praise and hellfire and brimstone teachings, along with some philosophy lifted from other teachers, and falsified miracles! Go New Bible! GO!

Infallible, omnipotent, and omnipresent. All of the above. God makes decisions and choices, just as we do. And He sometimes changes His mind.

Well, I guess you can't worship an infallible imnipresent, omnipotent deity and worship the words of the bible written by man as God at the same time. If God can be contained within a language created by man, and man is fallible, then God is fallible. Unless man is also infallible. At least in the creation of language itself.

They also missed the point that Jesus, being a Jewish Rabbi, was preaching the same OT that they now say is outdated.
