Does anyone out there know how long it takes to receive your money once the State takes it out of the non-coustdials tax check? they received a letter on June 7th stateing that the state of florida was taking the money but we have not heard anything else and it has not been mailed to me yet.... I heard that there was a holding peroid but I cannot seem to find out how long....

It typically takes about 4 - 6 months. The taxpayer who had the refund offset has to be given a chance to appeal the offset as well as any joint filer with the taxpayer has to be given a chance to file an Injured Spouse application.

I would call and find out. It shouldn't take this long.
