The church is the haven for sinners. No one in the church is or will ever be perfect. Even the apostles failed Jesus miserably. The point is, we will all fail, but it is important to keep striving.
"When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean livin."
I'm whispering "I was lost,"
Now I'm found and forgiven.
When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need CHRIST to be my guide.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
and need HIS strength to carry on.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
and need God to clean my mess.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
but, God believes I am worth it.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain,
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.
When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
who received God's good grace, somehow." - Maya Angelou

i want to believe that no one is better than anyone else. we all may have qualities or talents that we are better at, but as a whole no one is a better person than another person.
Jane may be a better reader than Sue, but that doesn't make Jane a better person.... I think that alot of the atheists I know tend to be more analytical. They think things through more and are more logical. They are good at reasoning. They are the kind of people that I would go to if I had a problem and needed some serious brain power! But I don't think that makes them a better person than I am...

Maybe the ones that are are subconsciously trying to work their way into a heaven that they say they don't believe in; or maybe they're just trying to justify their existence.
P.S. Sweetie, the reason Christians generalize about Muslims is because their Quran tells them to kill people that don't believe what they do.

NOBODY is perfect. To be perfect, a person must be without sin and the Bible clearly states that anyone who makes such a statement is fooling himself.
"If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us."

Well...
I would have to say they have no one they have to talk about what they did and to ask forgiveness...
No Rules mean no worrys...
No problems because their opinion is about the same as everyone else's.
I would question if these mean people are actual "Christians" because there are many that say they are but don't go to church EVER!
Anyways... I know MANY kind and better Christians!
But what is good people to you is probably not good people to me.....
In Christ...

You don't become a perfect person when you become a Christian. You become a child of God. And as a child you grow in all respects to know more about Him and to become more like Him. It is a growing thing. That's why forgiveness is so stressed by Jesus because we all err, we are all human. No one is perfect. Why do you expect us to be?

Just because Christians tell you over and over that there is no way for Jesus to be a Muslim, doesn't mean they are bad people. In fact, they are good people for trying to open your eyes to the fact that your people are lying to you.

Interesting. There are less atheists in prison then in the general population as a comparison of percent. But that could have to do with intelligence, which is only peripherally affected by religion.

Because we adhere to humanism. Humanism is a philosophy of life inspired by humanity and guided by reason. It provides the basis for a fulfilling and ethical life without religion.
Humanists make sense of the world using reason, experience and shared human values.
Humanists see no convincing evidence for gods, the supernatural, or life after death.
Humanists believe that moral values are properly founded on human empathy and scientific understanding.
Humanists believe we must live this life on the basis that it is the only life we'll have -- that, therefore, we must make the most of it for ourselves, each other, and our world.
Humanist philosophies have arisen separately in many different cultures over many thousands of years. Whether or not they use the term humanism, tens of millions of Americans and hundreds of millions of people around the world agree with the humanist philosophy of living a happy and productive life based on reason and compassion.
