I learned a while back...i can't drag another person to church. And working with youth, I watched parents force family members to go. As soon as the child graduated from high school..that was the last we saw of him.
Learned that wanting to be with God has to be something that burns from the inside out. And I can't put that fire in someone. But I do know someone who can.
And I do know He wants me to come to Him with this. Prayer...it might not happen overnight...but let me tell you...after 7 years of praying for one brother, it was surprising to just hear him ask one question and say "oh...well now I get it." And if it takes a nother 7 years and another 7 on top of that for my other brother, I'm going to keep on praying.
Prayer...the most effective weapon we have...so effective..the enemy does everything he can to get us to doubt it, forget about it, to never trust it, and to leave it alone.
Prayer...scares the hell out of the devil.

Sometimes all you can do is pray for someone and witness to them the living truth of the christian message. That is, be patient, kind and loving. No one can have a forced conversion. You could also try buying your nephew some christian books, like the chronicles of narnia or offer to babysit him and teach him about the bible. Just make sure you tell his parents beforehand. If they see in you the peace, joy and love of Christ, they may be inspired to change.
Do as St. Francis recommends: "Preach the gospel everywhere and at all times, when necessary, use words."

Pray for him and his family, prayer for opportunities to invite them to church or talk to them about God. Ask the family if you can take your nephew to Sunday school (or your church equivalent lol). Keep praying even when you see no results because God said
"I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem. They will never be silent day or night. Whoever calls on the LORD, do not give yourselves any rest," Isaiah 62:6.
God bless

Sister,
The first and most powerful thing you do is pray to God to move in your brother's and his family's heart.
Ask God to give you the words to share with your brother and NEVER give up on him. Love him like you do and be an example to him and the rest of the family of how a relationship with Christ brings a life of abundant blessings of love, peace, and happiness. Remember, it is the work of the Holy Spirit that reveals who Christ is to us so do NOT put pressure on yourself for his choices...just continue being a loving Christian. God bless you!

Hey Sis....
Here is what you need to do....pray this promises to God.
" If any man see his (or her) brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he (or she) shall ask, and He shall give him (or her) life for them that sin not unto death." 1 John 5:16
" Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer
of a righteous man availeth much." James 5:16
So...God is saying that if you pray for your brother, that He will give life for him....and that your prayer will be heard and answered. Believe that! God does answer always...but it His own time.
I don't know how close you live to him but if you can...invite his family to church with you...at least take his son with you if you can. Children can help lead their parents when no one else can. I speak from experience with my own family. If nothing else...just a get a Bible story book and teach him yourself. Kids love stories....this is the best time.
I will pray for you to have wisdom and perseverence for your brother. You have the heart of an intercessor which is what we all need to have. God bless you for your caring.
Oh, and email just any time. Hugs sister.....

Drinking Alcohol isn't forbidden in the Bible specifically. What your brother said is right but if it is hindering his relationship with God than it is a sin because he's basically worshiping the bottle instead of God.
Idol worship is when someone makes something or someone more important than God. Tell him that. He won't have a good answer.

Dew,
We have a wonderful preacher who works very well in just such an instance. You may not have one where you attend but I am sure there is a nearby preacher or man of faith that could have a one-on-one conversation with your brother and assist him in realizing what he is doing to that young child. This is rather BAD! Let me know how things go. I would be glad to assist you in finding someone if you need it.
Thanks,

I feel very sorry for you...really. I'm not joking. I am experiencing a similar problem. one of my family members drinks and...i have been trying to get him out of it.
1.pray and keep praying for him. don't give up.
2.if you have his email...then email him and tell him about God all you can.
3.when the child gets older...talk to him if it's possible and try to get him saved ASAP.
4.just pray.
i will pray for you. and that's a promise. okay? just know that someone is praying for you.
