I agree. Real flowers look nice on cakes. You could just leave the cake plain and arrange the flowers at the base in the front using a simple triangular pattern. If your cake is layered put some on each layer at the base.
Or if the triangular thing isn't working for you get small simple flowers and put a band at the base of the layer(s).
Happy Wedding. Congrats

Where area do you live in? And what type of flowers do you need? Try looking under "cake decorating stores" in your local yellow pages, if they don't have what you need they should be able to order them for you from one of their suppliers. If you go with fresh flowers check with a florist first. Not all flowers are safe to be put on cakes.

go to a party supply store. If you can find one that's not one of the big chains you may have better luck. Also go to the bakeries... they may have some brilliant ideas.
don't pass up too quickly on the idea of finding small silk flowers to decorate with.
Did the person making your cake offer you any alternatives?

Try any local bakery in your area that specializes in wedding cakes, tell them you just want to buy the gum paste flowers, they will probably hose you fro them, but at least you'll have them Good luck and congratulations.

Do a search on gum paste flowers. Also, I think you may be better off contacting local bakeries to have them done for you. They can also sell the flowers that they use in store.
Good luck, and congrats!

Quickest and easiest would be to go to a cake decorating store and pick them yourself. They usually have a good selection, you know what you are getting and don;t have to worry about damage in the post! Plus you will save shipping costs.

google:
"cake decorations"
you could also add "gum paste" or "marzipan" to that too.
