I'm a Buddhist and as such I accept certain things (after scrutiny) like their is no soul, all beings are subject to Samsara (cycle of birth death and rebirth), the Four Noble Truths, the Buddha was a man an enlightened man but still a man, and everything is imperminent. so why are some people always trying to ad god, soul theories (which were taught as faulse by the Buddha) and other things, i know its not everyone but it is not just disrespectfull, and a lie but can be very very annoying.
If i added something to your religion wouldn't you be shouting and screaming so why do it to mine.

elmjunburke ok what if i said christians worshiped idols due to the fact that their are churches named after saints, prayers to saints and people pray to saints, and the church itself (roman catholic banned what is now a tradition of christmas but originally on saint nickolas's day dec 5th due to idolitry, or muslims worship mohamad due to their reaction to the comic pictures printed in denmark? all reasonable assumptions but mistaken ones.

People talk about religions and philosophical doctrines because they have a mouth. Most of the time they don't know what they're talking about but they do it because it's trendy to seem spiritual so they say one or two things and add any kind of information they heard someone say or because they don't remember something they read and they make up terrible mince pie. They generate confusion and sometimes, when they try to use those arguments to supports their ideas, they make a fool of themselves asserting things like Buddhism thinking of an individual soul.
People should know more about what they are talking and you know what is really interesting? most of them don't even know their own religion.
I'm not attacking anybody in particular, I'm just stating facts coming from my experience.

Hi
Why do you believe in your faith? How do you know that Samsara exists? Re-incarnation? I find that very hard to comprehend. We live, we die, we are condemned to the earth, or cremated. Your evidence?
I, as a Qualified Staff Nurse, have seen hundreds of people on their deathbeds, and seen death over and over again. Yet I have never been haunted, seen a ghost, or had a patient that says they are a re-incarnation. Have You witnessed a deah, do you know what happens? I respect your Faith, I do, as I am governed to by my Code Of Conduct as a registered Nurse. Rebirth may not be imperative in your faith and Im not so sure about those people who brag about their gods. Ive seen all walks of life die and they all die the same way for whatever reason. Their heart stops beating and their breathingceases. Nothing extra special happens after that. they all go to the same mortuary. And I've never seen a ghost. When you die you die. Theres nothing after. Apart from a service of some sort. Ive never felt a 'presence' a 'haunting' or 'cold'. And belive me i've seen hundreds of deaths. I saw two today. Theres nothing after, we live, we learn, we reproduce, we pay tax, we die.
Anyone with solid proof of more,,,,,,,,,,,,Im still waiting.

Thats a bit simplistic - isnt there a belief that great teachers (tulku) may be reincarnated? What about the Dalai Llama?
And anyway I dont think I've seen that much Buddhist bashing on this forum, most logical folk kinda warm to you guys!

Because 1. confusion with Hinduism 2. confusion between sects of Buddhism or 3. You are wrong. It could be any of those three, I am assuming the first two. Then again, I could be wrong also...

Nobody can cause you to believe anything you don't want to believe . If they mention "god" as being in the Buddhist religion , and you disagree , simply ignore it . I don't understand your gripe .
If you said that Lutherans worship Martin Luther , most would just laugh it off .
Don't be so touchy .

People get thinking, and when that happens, their ideas work their way into everything. People always seem to "know" what would be a better way to do things.
