There is an online petition to allow illegal immigrants access to go to college in the US because as you know they can not without legal citizenship. After they graduate they would then be granting them neutral citizenship. I believe they should have to get proper legalized citizenship then they will be allowed to go to school. I mean I dont see petitions online for illegal immigrants to pay taxes. So what are your thoughts? I get bothered by this they want education but dont want to pay taxes. A little bit of hypocracy going on there dont you think?

The only good part i see to this is...

We can use it as a collection system Start posting ICE agents outside classrooms with zip tie handcuffs and buses heading to the nearest deportation center. Do not pass Go. Do not stop on your way out.

Yeah. I'm torn on this one. It's a great thing to pursue college but you have to be very weary about where you place the line here. Graduating from high school shouldn't be it. There are already student VISAs. That's your channel to go through. Any idiot can graduate from an American high school, sadly to say. If you qualify for a student VISA that's what you should get. Maybe you become legal at your completion of college but until then you are temporary unless you apply for citizenship the same way people who actually follow our laws do. Just because you don't like a law doesn't mean you should break it.

"This will provide more opportunities for all Americans, and improve the quality of life for all communities. "

This statement baffles me. I don't see how that would provide more opportunities for all Americans.

I can see why you are annoyed, I am too and believe me I've thought long and hard about this topic, but I just can not begin to figure out how this is fair. What country in the world can I move to and leech off of a system that I don't put anything into? Please let me know because I've always dreamed of living abroad at least a little while.

Edit: It may not be the childs fault that their parents brought them here illegally, but if a parent commits a crime and their child ends up hurt for it, it's what the PARENT did to the child. How is that our problem?

F-Bigots, thanks for your well thought out, mature and thought provoking response.

People should think about what position they are putting their kids in before they commit a crime. That's all I'm saying. I can understand people not wanting to live in a hell hole, who does? But again, how is that the United States problem? My main problem with the lax borders is the inability to regulate who enters and leaves this country. It's a security thing and if this administration actually REALLY cared about security in this country, they would be doing more to secure BOTH borders...

but yes it gets under my skin when I see all of these "movements" to help out illegals when there are so many children right here in THIS country (born to legal US Americans) who do not get a good education and can't afford college... But the US is supposed to care about non citizens whose offspring can't do the same? I'm sorry if I am not moved.

Have a good day now.

Yeah- that sounds really stupid. Like most of the plans going through college now. I'm glad that many of these people are trying to go to college and better themselves, but they need to take the proper channels to do it.

Get your education visa or citizenship first and then you can go to school. Oh- and that way you will have to pay the taxes!

Not only that... in California, illegal immigrants can get in-state tuition rate at state schools, and the tuition rate is so low that basically everybody else is underwriting the real cost through taxes. Once again, an example of illegals stealing our tax money. If you are a U.S. citizen from, for example, Wisconsin or Washington... well, YOU will have to pay out-of-state tuition to attend CA universities: a rate about four times higher than what the illegals pay.

YankeeFan I gotta question for you brah. If you don't like Illegal Aliens not paying taxes, then why not Legalize them. If they graduate college that would make somebody more than enough qualified to become a citizen (harder than a citizenship test anyway). If they are granted citizenship then they would be paying taxes wouldn't they......... come on.........................say yes stupid........ try and think

I have also seen petitions on the internet to make Jedi a recognized religion, to elect ZZ Top president and outlaw masturbation. Doesn't mean they are going to pass.

They can go without legal citizenship . . . it's called a student visa . . . different then a work visa. Student visas do not allow the student to work . . . so of course, they don't pay taxes. Why would you advocate a policy that throws back the smart ones?

I too am enraged. These illegals sneak into this country and now want full rights except they do not want to pay taxes, just freeload on on health care system and social services.
They should be returned to their county of origin and never be allowed into this country again.

It grants illegal immigrants that have graduated from high school here in the US, not just any illegal immigrant. There are ton of illegal children that were brought by their parents. They were not given the choice, why should we punish them when the american way of life is the only life that most of them know. The only way for them to get legalized would be for a spouse or immediate realtive to file a hardship letter and I-601 waiver, they can not do this on their own. Otherwise they would have to go back to the country they were born in, a country they know nothing about and have never lived in. And just so you know, my husband pays his taxes and he is illegal and yes USCIS knows he is here.
