It is not too late to spay her. I highly suspect you'll be paying for a c-section if you don't.

Some breeders do that, because the ladies produce puppies and the men good they dont quite. They put more value on the females than adult males. As a former breeder, i'd not do this. The males have simply as much value. After we sold pups, we bought them as confined reg. The only time the pups worth when up was after they have been evaluated, and were determined to be a show first-rate puppy. Good then the worth of the pup went up. I've three in the exhibit ring that i have bought, prior to now. I nonetheless see them once in awhile. They are exotic. Ok, I dont agree with this way of marketing doggies. The pups need to be offered as restrained and at a suite fee unless evaluated. (if they intend to show). I feel males and females are about the identical so far as temperment and problems. One squats to pee and one squats to pee. If they're constant. So no, no change if constant.

You need to call your vet and arrange to have a xray done towards the end of the pregnancy to do a pup count and see pup size. The vet may well rec. a csection- say your girl weighs 6 lbs, the dad weighs 12 lbs- he is 2xs her size, letting her deliver naturally could KILL her. That's like breeding a 100lb male to a 50 lb female- not a good idea, huh?Seek a vet's advice, and get ready to fork out some major $ (csections can be $1k easy).
An above poster said 'The male dog actually are supposed to be larger that the female'. That is ridiculous and dangerous and anyone breeding dogs that way does not know what they're doing- I'm not saying a slightly larger male isn't ok, but the male you speak of is more than 'slightly' larger.

What a hideous mixture!
Her labor won't be easy, if she can give birth at all. Better get out the checkbook now. An emergency spay will be cheaper than a C-section or a dead mother.
How about neutering the father as well? These are pets and should not be bred when the animal shelter is so full of dogs condemned to death.

Well males ARE typically larger than their sisters (same gene pool) but a SUBSTANTUALLY lager male from a larger breed gene pool is bad news. THEN we add in the head shape of a shih tzu which is NOT good for easy birth and if I were you I'd have my vet on alert for a possible c-section - in fact talk to him about a secduled c-section....
this is gonna be an $$$ opps.

some breeders do this, because of the fact the girls individuals produce puppies and the adult males properly they dont extremely. They placed greater fee on the girls individuals than adult males. As a former breeder, i would not do this. The adult males have only as lots fee. as quickly as we offered puppies, we offered them as limited reg. the only time the puppies fee while up became into as quickly as they have been evaluated, and have been discovered to be a tutor high quality domestic dog. properly then the fee of the domestic dog went up. I definitely have 3 interior the tutor ring that I definitely have offered, interior the previous. I nonetheless see them as quickly as in awhile. they are spectacular. ok, I dont accept as true with this style of promoting puppies. The puppies would desire to be offered as limited and at a set fee till evaluated. (in the event that they intend to tutor). i think of adult males and ladies individuals are relating to a similar so a approaches as temperment and issues. One squats to pee and one squats to pee. in the event that they are fastened. so no, no distinction if fastened.

um yes the male should usually be smaller for mating so its easier on the mother. But males are obviously naturally bigger if they are the same breed,in your case they arent. I dont know why you didnt spade/neuter them because those two mixes reallly wont make a cute puppy.

any dog pregnancy COULD be dangerous. The mother COULD die, the mother risks chances of cancers, the pups could die. You could be stuck trying to bottle feed them all, she could require and expensive c-section.
It's early enough I would take her to the vet and have her spayed- they will remove the litter and there will be no further problems.

You just have to watch her very closely when she is about to deliver, you may have to assist. If she has too much trouble then you will have to have your vet on stand-by so you can run her in so he can help!
Good Luck!
